     MUMBAI: NDTV Prime in association with Getty Images, the world leader in visual communication, announces Face of India, the search for India’s best amateur portrait photographer. It is a first of its kind contest that will provide a platform to identify and nurture raw photography talent in the country.

     Face of India is an amateur and enthusiast photography award, dedicated to shining a spotlight on upcoming non-professional and student photographers. It has one mission; to discover and celebrate portrait photography and photographers in India. The last date for sending entries to be a part of the contest is 30th November, 2015.

     The entries will be judged by a renowned jury consisting of Aditya Arya, known for his advertising photography work; Ravi Dhingra, a versatile lifestylephotographer and the festival director for the Delhi Photo Festival; Dinesh Khanna,  a photographer who has been extensively involved in creating images for advertising and editorial features; Sanjay Nanda, a graphic designer by profession but a passionate photographer along with a bevy of international photographers will be focussing their lens on exploring new talent.

     By participating in the ‘Face of India Portrait Photography Competition’, you stand a chance of becoming a “Contributing Photographer for Getty Images”, giving you access to the company’s industry-leading experts and an opportunity to take your photography to the next level.

    Speaking on the contest NDTV chairperson Prannoy Roy said, “NDTV is proud to be associated with Getty Images to extend a platform for amateur photographers to display their talent and to be recognised across India.  Photography has become an increasingly popular format across every age group and a camera is no longer limited to a DSLR. The regular smartphone has also become a part of us to pursue our passions to explore new photographic styles. We are confident that this contest will find some real hidden heroes who will capture their talent in photography’’

     The competition is open for Indian nationals only from around the world. Portrait is the theme for the competition as they are more complex than just a beautiful face, or a well-staged family photograph. A skillfully captured portrait has the power to move us through its expression and mood. Portraits speak of happiness, sadness or reveal a distant thought within the subject’s glance, an untold story is heard.

    MUMBAI: The Advertising Club and Advertising Agencies Association of India has announced Canco Advertising founder Ramesh Narayan  as the  chairman of the Awards Governing Council for Goafest 2016.

     

    Announcing the appointment, The Advertising Club president Raj Nayak said, “We are pleased to announce that Ramesh Narayan will be the Chairman of the Awards Governing Council of the Goafest. He brings his unique experience as one of the very few people who has been President of the Advertising Club and the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) to this post. He has also been Chairman of the Abby Awards Committee twice, and was the first Indian to judge the Effie Awards finals in New York. Ramesh is the only person to have been conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award by the AAAI and been inducted into the International Advertising Association’s Hall of Fame.” 

     

    Goafest Organizing Committee chairman Nakul Chopra commented on the appointment saying, “I’ve known Ramesh as a visionary leader who embraces change and is open to new ideas. I’m sure his appointment means an interesting phase for the Council is on the anvil.”

     

    Narayan too added, “I’m humbled by this appointment. It fills me with immense happiness to be part of such an esteemed panel. There’s a lot to learn and grow, and I’m sure I’ll be able to add value to the Council. I look forward to reaching out to all stakeholders and getting their suggestions on how to make this the gold standard for awards.”

    MUMBAI: The viewers in Nigeria will be on an edge-of-the-seat journey from the month of November. GoQuest Media, an India based television content sales agency, has licensed Ezel – a Turkish crime drama series to a popular television channel in Nigeria.

     

    GoQuest Media Ventures, licenses TV series and Bollywood films to territories across the world. Ezel has been a popular TV series and has been broadcasted around the world. GoQuest Media had licensed Ezel to a top channel in Uganda earlier this year. Owing to its strong foothold in Africa and especially in Nigeria, GoQuest has managed to get this famous Turkish Series to Nigeria. With this deal, the company stands true to its image of providing best programming and is proud to bring the first ever Turkish Drama to Nigeria.

    MUMBAI: Vh1 is all set to launch a robust campus connect program in over 19 cities with about 100 colleges titled as Vh1 Represent.  The program which is an online and on-ground youth connect program will comprise of three major functions i.e. branding in colleges, tie up with youth events and college festivals and an influencer network which will act as the channel’s representation at these colleges.

     

    Announcing the latest initiative by the channel, Viacom18 EVP & Head – English Entertainment Ferzad Palia asserted, Vh1’s core proposition has always been to get with it calling out the young & old to align with all things cool. The youth and their fast developing tastes have been synonymous to that proposition; they are go getters who want to be a part of everything that is trending.

     

    With this college program we aim to identify such students and get them to be Vh1’s Voice on Campus. It’s a great extension of the channels on air philosophy & to engage with a vast majority of our target audience.

     

    Vh1 Represent is a massive youth campus initiative that celebrates the spirit of youth across college campuses in India. The initiative encourages youngsters to showcase their talent and creativity, while giving them an interactive platform to create, connect and collaborate with each other. The platform will live 365 days through TV, web, mobile and social where content and experiences are curated with the college students.

     

    Garnering a strong brand recall with multitude of activities like youth connect programs, partnerships with hangouts, college festivals & allied youth touch points, apart from television, Vh1 aims at an integrated approach towards entertainment.     FX to air the sixth instalment of American Horror Story

    MUMBAI: FX has ordered the sixth instalment of the groundbreaking and award-winning anthology limited series American Horror Story. The news was announced by the CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions John Landgraf. The sixth instalment will air in 2016 with the next chapter of the Emmy and Golden Globe winning franchise co-created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

     

    “With the sixth instalment coming next year, American Horror Story has unquestionably joined the ranks of television’s landmark series,” Landgraf said. “From Murder House to HotelAHS has pioneered a new television form as well becoming FX’s highest rated show — while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity. This is even more remarkable because Ryan and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful and entertaining. You could not ask more of an artist, their team or a series and with every new installment they deliver.”

     

    Ryan Murphy serves as co-creator, Showrunner, executive producer, writer and director of American Horror Story: Hotel and Brad Falchuk is co-Creator, executive producer and writer. Tim Minear, Brad Buecker, Jennifer Salt, James Wong and Alexis Martin Woodall also serve as executive producers. The American Horror Story franchise is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.

      

    American Horror Story: Hotel will return with a new episode on 21 November 2015 at 11 pm entitledFlicker.

     

    American Horror Story: Hotel features an all-star cast of Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock.

     

    The first four instalments of the American Horror Story limited series franchise have received 71 Emmy Award nominations and 13 Emmy Award wins, including five Emmy awards for its fourth instalment, American Horror Story: Freak Show.
