    Mumbai: ZEE5 is known to create and present great content across genres and with the launch of Abhay, it announces one of the first procedural format crime thrillers; a genre not explored in the OTT space yet. Produced by B.P. Singh’s (popularly known for the famous crime TV series CID) Fiction Factory Productions, the series marks the digital debut of popular actor Kunal Kemmu who essays the role of SP Abhay Pratap Singh. The eight-episode crime thriller premieres 7th February, with two episodes unfolding each month, disrupting the traditional binge viewing habit of content on OTT platforms.

    Based on real crime stories, Abhay is a crime thriller that follows the inverted detective format of storytelling. In his digital debut, Kunal Khemu plays an investigative officer who solves bone chilling murder cases while dealing with his own personal demons.

Vidya Sen, Executive Director, Innovation, Ipsos India, will now, in addition to her responsibilities as the Country Head for the Innovation Service Line, play an expanded role stretching across the entire Asia Pacific (APAC) Region for Ipsos Innovation. And Arun Agarwala, IT Director, Ipsos India will take up duties of some of the key markets in the APEC (Asia Pacific Excluding China) region, of Philippines, Indonesia & Vietnam.

    MUMBAI: Leveraging the strength of humor in driving a potent message across to its audiences, Zee TV recently collaborated with stand-up comedian Jeeveshu Ahluwalia for the launch of its new fiction offering Rajaa Betaa. The show, that went on air on 15th January and currently airs at 6:30 PM every Monday to Saturday on Zee TV, takes viewers through the journey of an ideal young man, Vedant (played by Rrahul Sudhir) – a highly qualified gynaecologist, an orphan at birth who was adopted in his early childhood. Despite being raised by a family which never truly accepted him as their own and turned to him largely for their vested interests, Vedant flowers into a fine young man who keeps giving back to the people who gave him a surname. Whether this ideal son will be finally acknowledged by his foster family for his true worth forms the crux of the show.

    Bringing alive the concept of the show while adding a humorous punch to the mix will be stand-up comedian Jeeveshu Ahluwalia who has penned down a parody of the entire ‘Rajaa Betaa’ phenomenon in India and our obsession with it. For every Indian mom, her son is a ‘Rajaa Betaa’. In Indian society, a Rajaa Betaa is a son who is spoilt and pampered. For a mother, he can never be wrong, and the mother believes that he is the best son in the whole world and nobody can be better than him. These pampered boys grow up to be over-entitled, self-centered chauvinists – basically the anti-thesis of everything that Vedant represents. While the fairly ridiculous ‘Rajaa Betaa’ culture flourishes across the length and breadth of the country, men like Vedant are exceptions to the rule that need to be acknowledged, recognized and lauded.

    In the video, Jeeveshu is seen narrating his daily encounters with his mother through a satirical stand-up act. He draws our attention to the different aspects of a Rajaa Betaa, owns up to being one himself and how he is pampered by his doting mother. Jeeveshu’s words are relatable, his hilarious set tickles the audience’s funny bone and makes them root for the protagonist, Vedant, who is the ideal ‘Rajaa Betaa’ that our Indian households aspire to raise.

    MUMBAI: The heroes of the Indian football team return from the AFC Asian Cup as the ongoing season of Hero Indian Super League – season 5 resumes on Friday, January 25th with arch rivals Kerala Blasters locking horns against the 2-time champions ATK.

    The opening weekend will also feature other marquee matches involving defending champions Chennaiyin FC as NorthEast United FC host them on Saturday, January 26th.

    The week will end with the top of the table clash between Mumbai City FC and Bengaluru FC on Sunday, January 27th. All games will begin from 7.30 pm IST and will be broadcast LIVE on the Star Sports Network.

    After a morale boosting AFC Asian Cup, the Blue Tigers have now returned on the home soil to don their Hero ISL franchise colours aiming further to win fan’s hearts from across the country. The opening three games of the Hero ISL season after the break will see stars from national team Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Udanta Singh (all Bengaluru FC), Anirudh Thapa (Chennaiyin FC), Rowllin Borges (NorthEast United FC), Subhasish Bose (Mumbai City FC), Pronay Halder (ATK) and many more back in action for fans to look forward to.

    Bengaluru FC narrowly missed out on the Hero ISL title last year and are unbeaten after 11 games, with this form the team could very well be the champions this season. The current standings in the league table also indicates that the league could have a new winner with Bengaluru FC, Mumbai City FC, FC Goa, NorthEast United FC and Jamshedpur FC all in contention for the playoff spots.

    Kerala Blasters in an aim to regain momentum have replaced David James with Nelo Vingada and would look at the game against ATK on Friday, January 25th as a perfect opportunity to regain their lost confidence.

    Twitter hosts ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival’s first-ever digital panel

    MUMBAI: As the literary world prepares for ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival 2019, the largest convention of writers, thinkers and cultural icons in India, Twitter today announced that it will co-host the Festival’s first-ever digital panel, #PowerOf18, which can be attended exclusively on Twitter.

    The panel, named after Twitter India’s recently launched social initiative #PowerOf18 to encourage young Indians to take part in the public conversation, will take place at 5.30pm on 25th January, on National Voters Day. It will bring together young, dynamic Indians who’ve both, chronicled and shaped the zeitgeist, to discuss the transformative power of civic action and the importance of making your voice heard on Twitter, and beyond.

    The panel will feature:

    ● Ravinder Singh (@_RavinderSingh_) – One of India’s best-loved romance authors, Singh has sold over 3 million copies of his novels and runs Black Ink, a publishing platform for debut authors

    ● Zuni Chopra (@zuni_chopra ‏) – At 17, Chopra is a prolific writer, having already published two poetry books, a novel and a collection of short stories

    ● Snigdha Poonam (@snigdhapoonam ‏) – The award-winning journalist covers national affairs with a focus on young India. Her first book Dreamers: How Young Indians Are Changing Their World and Yours won the Crossword Book Award in 2018

Composed by Mikey McCleary, the album is an eclectic mix of energetic party numbers, ballads, romantic and soulful tracks that celebrate the perfect friendship of the four imperfect girls in the show, the many moods of the characters and their journey. The album, as much as it is an intrinsic part of the story, can also be enjoyed independently as there’s something for everyone to relate to.     MUMBAI: Movie promotions broke new ground when URI: The Surgical Strike, produced by RSVP (Ronnie Screwvala Productions) Movies, became the first Indian movie to join hands with PUBG Mobile to launch a surgical strike on Pochinki, one of the largest and most popular towns in the game’s maps. The event, which was conceptualized and deployed by Publicis Entertainment, took place on 6 January 2019 with a large number of PUBG enthusiasts taking part.

    Talking about the decision for the tie-up with the game, Pashan Jal, Marketing Head RSVP, said “The movie and the game were a natural fit as both are based on teamwork, precision, survival skills, remote communication, and strategy. What’s more the game has players being airdropped into Pochinki, just like our para commandos who did the surgical strike. With Uri: The Surgical Strike being the first big release of 2019 and PUBG Mobile being one of the top games in the world, we thought this was a match made in entertainment heaven. We feel proud that it is the first Indian film to tie-up with the game.”
