    Snapdeal launches Voonik’s apparel on its platform

    MUMBAI: Snapdeal, India’s leading value-focused marketplace, has launched over 350 products from the fashion brand Voonik on its platform.

    The products include bestsellers from apparel and footwear categories, including kurtis, tops, dresses and bottom wear for women, and footwear, T-shirt, shirt and denim for men.

    Voonik products are priced in the Rs 399 to Rs 899 range on Snapdeal. With the new partnership with Voonik, Snapdeal has expanded the selection of value-priced items to include a private label from an online fashion player. 

    As an introductory offer, users get a minimum 50% discount on all Voonik products. In addition, Voonik buyers on Snapdeal will get an additional 15% instant discount on using Bank of Baroda and HSBC credit cards.

    “Voonik’s products perfectly mirror the needs of our target audience, including the rapidly growing middle segment of the market. We are very excited to bring Voonik’s products on our platform," said a Snapdeal spokesperson.

    Snapdeal’s selection has grown to over 200 million listings on the platform. In the last two years, it has seen 60,000+ new seller partners come on board adding over 50 Million new listings. A large number of local emerging brands on Snapdeal are added to ensure adequate choice to India’s value-seeking customers.

    Earlier, Snapdeal also partnered with Japanese brand Miniso to launch its attractively priced products on its platform.

    MUMBAI: For World Elephant Day 2019, Forevermark, the diamond brand from De Beers Group, is excited to unveil a compelling six-part short film series revealing the epic journey of one of the world’s keystone species as they embark on one of the largest and longest translocations ever undertaken in South Africa. 

    In 2018, De Beers Group announced that it was commencing a major conservation initiative titled Moving Giants that would see around 200 elephants translocated from its Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve (VLNR) in South Africa to a national park in Mozambique co-managed by NGO Peace Parks Foundation and the Mozambique government. The aim of the initiative, which would take around three years to complete, is to protect and sustain the natural habitat, and the future survival of the animals and plants it supports, at the VLNR, while helping to facilitate the restoration of the elephant population in Mozambique.

    The six-part film series tells the moving story of the first 48 elephants and what it takes to translocate these majestic creatures a staggering 1,700km to Zinave National Park. Each episode is told through the eyes and experiences of the varied group of experts, partners and collaborators involved in the project, including elephant translocation specialist Kester Vickery; veterinarian Dr. Andre Uys; Senior Manager: Ecology and DBCM Properties Piet Oosthuizen; and Zinave National Park Ranger Estevao Chiure.

    In July 2019, De Beers Group announced that it had successfully carried out its second translocation as part of Moving Giants, translocating a further 53 elephants from its Venetia Limpopo Nature in South Africa to Zinave National Park in Mozambique.

    MUMBAI: Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, and Microsoft Corp. are embarking on a unique, comprehensive, long-term strategic relationship aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of the Indian economy and society. This 10-year commitment combines the world-class capabilities of both companies to offer a detailed set of solutions comprising connectivity, computing, storage solutions, and other technology services and applications essential for Indian businesses and will span the broad Reliance Industries ecosystem including its existing and new businesses.

    In combining efforts, Jio and Microsoft aim to enhance the adoption of leading technologies like data analytics, AI, cognitive services, blockchain, Internet of Things, and edge computing among small and medium enterprises to make them ready to compete and grow, while helping accelerate technology-led GDP growth in India and driving adoption of next-gen technology solutions at scale.

    As part of this new agreement:

Jio will set up datacenters in locations across India, consisting of next-generation compute, storage and networking capabilities, and Microsoft will deploy its Azure platform in these datacenters to support Jio’s offerings. The initial two datacenters, which can house IT equipment consuming up to 7.5 MW of power, are being set up in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra. These are targeted to be fully operational in calendar year 2020.

    4. Jio will leverage the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to develop innovative cloud solutions focused on the needs of Indian businesses. Through these Jio-developed solutions:

    Indian startups will have access to efficient and affordable cloud infrastructure and platform services, enabling them to develop innovative products and services faster and more cost-effectively.

    Small and medium businesses in India will have access to a range of cloud-based productivity, collaboration and business applications including Office 365, enabling them to compete more effectively in the Indian marketplace.

    Large companies will be able to accelerate their own digital transformations by leveraging new Jio solutions that can work with Microsoft offerings already in use today within many large enterprises.

    The partner ecosystem in India will have the opportunity to leverage Jio’s new offerings to serve the unique needs of their customers and rapidly grow their businesses.

    5. Jio will be executing on its vision of integrated speech and computer vision solutions for Indian customers by working together with Microsoft to develop solutions that support major Indian languages and dialects, which will promote the adoption of technology across all cross-sections of Indian society.

    MUMBAI: Hungama, India’s leading digital entertainment company, today launched a new Marathi original show, Shree Kaamdev Prasanna. Releasing in Marathi and Hindi, the show stars Maharashtra’s King of Comedy, Bhau Kadam in the titular role of Lord Kaamdev, along with popular Marathi actors, Sagar Karande, Bhagyashree Mote, Vinay Yedekar and Asha Shelar.  The show revolves around the misadventures of Milind, a 35 year old introvert who is shy around girls. Through a divine intervention gone wrong, Lord Kaamdev, the God of Passion, is sent to Earth to help him, turning Milind’s life into a comic mess but becoming his friend in the process. Shree Kaamdev Prasanna is produced by Hungama Digital Media and CafeMarathi, and directed by Sandeep Naware.

    In the show, Sagar Karande plays Milind, an introvert who simply cannot talk to girls. Concerned about the fact that her son might never meet a potential match, his mother (Asha Shelar) prays to Lord Krishna to help her son. In a hilariously twisted situation, her prayers are heard by Lord Chitragupta (Vinay Yedekar), Yama’s assistant, who decides to send Lord Kaamdev (Bhau Kadam) to Milind’s aid. Armed with a mantra taught to him by Kaamdev, Milind receives an incredible gift to be invisible and read the minds of girls around him. But there’s a catch! He becomes visible again, if he gets aroused! Kaamdev’s assistance, as much as a boon for Milind, gets him into comically bizarre situations. But as Kaamdev helps Milind win over the love of his life, Shivani (Bhagyashree Mote), the two also form a strong bond with each other and discover true friendship.

    Released in seven languages, the documentary is narrated in 4 chapters – Mol (Price), Maya (Illusion), Manthan (Internal conflict), Mukti (Liberation). Each chapter takes the audience on a journey that delves deep into the grimdark world of child sexual exploitation.
