  • Colors Kannada launches socio-family drama Antarapata

    Mumbai: Colors Kannada, keeping its promise to entertain its audience with the tagline of Banna Hosadagide, Bandha Bhigiyagide (A new colour with stronger bonding) is all set for a unique offering Antarapata. Presented by White Gold, Amrith Noni and special partners Sunfeast Dark Fantasy, Swastiks Masala and Sudarshan Family Stores, Antarapata will premiere only on Colors Kannada from 24 April at 8.30 PM from Monday to Friday. 

    The show with the tagline “Kaasu Kanasugala Naduve Kannamucchale” will entertain the audiences with Aradhana Shivashankar’s heartwarming journey as a women entrepreneur. The show gives you glimpses of a girl who has big dreams in her life but does not have the money to pursue her dreams whereas this guy; he has enough money in life but lacks ambitions in life. This is the story of Aradhana Shivashankar and Sushanth Raj respectively. Aradhana might not have the money, but she never stops following her dreams. Despite their personalities being poles apart, their fates get intertwined. 

    Shivshankar, the title itself is quite significant as it refers to the cloth that separates the groom and the bride during a wedding. It is also a metaphor for the veil of lies or hidden truths that exist between the newlyweds. The new fiction show features the journey of Aradhana – a budding woman entrepreneur – who must carefully navigate the trials and tribulations of starting a business and look forward to fulfilling her late father’s dreams.  

    Thanviya Balaraj, a background dancer is making her debut with Antarapata as Aradhana Shivashankar starring opposite Chandan Gowda, the winner of one of the top-rated reality shows Raja Rani, in lead roles.

    Shivshankar will also have other hottest picks from the Kannada GEC, the likes of, Manju Pavagada, Winner of BIGG BOSS Kannada-8, veteran actors Ambarish Sarangi and Sharmila Chandrashekhar. Swapna Krishna, who has given blockbuster films such as Pailwan and Hebbuli of Superstar Kiccha Sudeep, and Gaja Kesari of Rocking Star Yash in Kannada will be directing and producing the show under RRR Motion Creations.

  • Applause Entertainment makes entry into Tamil Cinema with ‘Por Thozhil’

    Mumbai: Applause Entertainment India’s content studio, is set to make its debut in Tamil cinema with the release of a taut, edge-of-the-seat investigative thriller, ‘Por Thozhil’ in collaboration with E4 Experiments and Eprius Studio. The movie, directed by debutant Vignesh Raja, stars Ashok Selvan and Sarath Kumar in the lead roles, with Nikhila Vimal in a pivotal role.

    The makers today released an intriguing title reveal with a chilling animation and haunting musical score, leading to much anticipation. ‘Por Thozhil’ translated as ‘The Art of War’, promises to be an intriguing thriller and is slated to release soon in cinemas.

  • Colors Tamil premieres blockbuster hit Rajamagal for Tamil New Year

    Mumbai: On the auspicious occasion of the Tamil New Year, Colors Tamil, Viacom18’s Tamil entertainment channel, brings to you the World Television Premiere of ‘Rajamagal’.

    The captivating family drama that celebrates the unique bond between fathers and daughters, features Aadukalam Murugadoss as the father (Mathy) and Baby Prithiksha as the daughter (Kanmani). Begin your new year with the entire family on  14 April (Friday) from 2pm onwards.

    Written and directed by Henry I, the film also features Bagavathi Perumal and Velina in supporting cast roles. It is produced by Moonwalk Pictures and the melodies are composed by Shankar Rangarajan.

    Set in a rural background, Rajamagal chronicles the life of Mathy (Aadukalam Murugadoss) who is ready to go to any extent to fulfil his daughter Kanmani’s (Baby Prithiksha) wish.

    Fascinated by her friend’s mansion, Kanmani asks her father to buy her a similar one, believing that he will fulfil her wish at any cost. Unwilling to disappoint his daughter, Mathy embarks on the mission, making the turn of events such a fascinating watch and a super hit family drama.

    From 1 April, 2023 News 1st will become News 1st Kannada.

    Due to the name change, BARC will start monitoring the channel afresh from April 1st.

    During the changeover, ratings for News 1st Kannada will be temporarily paused.

    This pause will be for a period of six to eight weeks starting 1 April, 2023.

    Post six to eight weeks, ratings will resume like before. 

    This note is to let advertisers and agencies know of the development.

  • ‘Ellam Mela Irukuravan Paathupan’ set for a direct television premiere on Colors Tamil

    Mumbai: Viacom18’s Tamil Entertainment channel, Colors Tamil, is all set to present the direct television premiere of ‘Ellam Mela Irukuravan Paathupan’, a science fiction comedy, on Sunday, 26 March, at 2:00 pm.

    Debutant director U. Kaviraj has conceptualised this truly out-of-the-box sci-fi movie in which an alien and a human being battle it out for a highly valued creation from outer space that could change the fate of mankind.

    Produced by Rowther films, the movie has roped in Karthik Acharya for the music along. Aari and Subhashree, who is from Sri Lanka and is also making her debut, play the lead roles. It also features Motta Rajendran, Dheena, Bagavathi Perumal and Sarath in important roles.

    Ellam Mela Irukuravan Paathupan is a completely new offering in the Kollywood cinema industry as aliens and humans collide in a never-before-seen visual masterpiece.

  • Colors Bangla curates line up for its audiences this weekend

    Mumbai: Colors Bangla is all prepared to amaze its viewers on Sunday, 26 March with its exclusively curated content consisting of the world television premiere of ‘Kaberi Antardhan’ and the most awaited musical award show Mirchi Music Awards Bangla.

    Exploring drama, thriller and mystery, Colors Bangla brings to screen the world television premiere of Kaberi Antardhan. Featuring actors Prasenjit Chatterjee, Srabanti Chatterjee, Kaushik Ganguly, Churni Ganguly this gripping thriller will premiere on 26 March at 2 pm on Colors Bangla.

    Kaberi Antardhan is a murder mystery set against the backdrop of Naxal movement and the Emergency. The story revolves around a crime and a love story in North Bengal during the Indian Emergency Period. Prasenjit as Arghya Sen pays a visit to the Ghosh residence and the mystery behind Mrinmoy’s (played by Kaushik Sen) sudden demise comes to light and starts unraveling the mystery of Kaberi’s disappearance (played by Srabanti Chatterjee). Directed by actor Kaushik Ganguly and produced by Surinder Films the films also star Churni Ganguly, Kaushik Sen, Indraneil Sengupta, Ambarish Bhattacharya.

    In addition to the world television premiere, the channel will also air Mirchi Music Awards Bangla which essentially is a celebration of Bengali musical talent.  The show hosted by Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and Imon Chakraborty will see one stupendous act after the other. The musical extravaganza will air on 26 March at 9 pm.

  • Telugu Indian Idol makes a grand return with a new season on aha

    Mumbai: Over the last three years, aha, the local OTT, has always aimed at providing its viewers with clutter-breaking shows and entertaining content. With its latest launch, ‘Telugu Indian Idol 2,’ aha is set to unleash a wave of musical magic that will resonate globally. The biggest singing stage opened with a befitting, star-studded launch event in Nellore with 15,000 people attending it on-ground with lacs watching it from their homes on YouTube Live across Telugu speaking states and the global Telugu speaking diaspora.

    The highlights of the evening were the breathtaking performances by this year’s judges SS Thaman & Geetha Madhuri and host Hemachandra. The event also had given a preview of season’s audition glimpse and promo anthem which was sung by Karthik, Geetha Madhuri, Hemachandra and music by SS Thaman. The season is set to premiere exclusively on aha on 3 March 2023. There was a surprise wild card entry announced for the season on this stage which got everyone’s interest piqued.

    The event also showcased the larger content promise from aha for the quarter and launched two of its biggest assets – Newsense, a webseries headlined by Navdeep & Bindu Madhavi and directed by Praveen Kumar Reddy. Navdeep, Bindu Madhavi and Praveen Kumar attended the event and engaged with audiences. The show is a gripping narrative of how journalism works and is set in Madanapally in the 90’s. Aha also launched Mandakini, the second daily series centered on mythology and the supernatural.

    The event unveiled the statue of Late singer SP Balasubramanyam, the maestro who ruled south music industry for five decades whose hometown also happens to be Nellore.
