    MUMBAI: Kodak Alaris has roped in Cássio Vaquero as its new regional director, information management division, for Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Based in Singapore, Vaquero succeeds Susheel John, who has been elevated to a global leadership role with Kodak Alaris in Rochester, New York.

     

    In his new role, Vaquero will head the Asia-Pacific operations with a special focus on creating deeper relationships with customers and partners across important sectors such as government, banking and financial services. 

     

    “Asia Pacific is an exciting marketplace for our business and Cássio has the experience and energy to unlock that power for us,” said Kodak Alaris CEO Ralf Gerbershagen. “He brings a great mix of entrepreneurial spirit and trusted expertise to the table. Two traits that are core to everything we do here at Kodak Alaris,” he added.

     

    Vaquero has been with the company for 15 years and has held a range of high profile marketing and sales positions. In his previous role, Vaquero was director of Kodak Alaris’ information management business in the Latin America Region (LAR), with responsibility for sales, marketing, service, and business operations. 

     

    “The Asia-Pacific region has a mix of developed and emerging markets with different adoption rates for information management solutions. The region is full of growth opportunities and offers us a really exciting challenge,” said Vaquero.

    MUMBAI: Razorfish India has roped in Bharatesh Salian as its vice president and head of strategy. He will be based out of its Mumbai office. 

     

    “With a strong technology background and in-depth understanding of brands and consumer behaviour to boot, it is a unique combination that is not easy to come by,” said Razorfish India COO Gaurav Pathak.

     

    He added, “His more than 14 years of rich experience in mobile, digital and social media domains will be valuable for us to strengthen Razorfish’s capabilities in business transformation.”

     

    Prior to joining Razorfish, he was with VivaConnect as chief strategy officer where he worked with clients like BJP, GSK, Google and Tata Motors. In his tenure at TechShastra, he developed innovative solutions for Unilever, Pepsi, Nescafe, Zee TV and Network 18 amongst others.

    Mundhe joins United Mediaworks after a stint of nearly a decade at Inox Leisure where he was a senior member in the ad-sales and marketing department. He was instrumental in carrying out innovative strategies for various clients and was also responsible in conducting premiers and special screenings for clients to generate additional revenue and get brand mileage.

    Govt asks media to refrain from speculative reports on high-level vacant posts

    NEW DELHI: The media was today asked by the Government to refrain from writing news articles based on speculation.

     

    The Finance Ministry appeared to be irked by reports in certain section of the media about the outcome of selection process for the post of MD & CEO of five Public Sector Banks (PSBs) recently.

     

    The Ministry said most of these items are based on speculation that is far from truth.

     

    Such news items based on speculative names create unnecessary confusion not only among the candidates who are part of the selection process but also among the members of public at large.

     

    It may be mentioned that the process of selection is kept confidential and, therefore, the result can only be known after the approval of the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC).

    Saumen Chakraborty named chairman of ESC

    NEW DELHI: Intellisys Technologies & Research CEO and managing Director Saumen Chakraborty has taken over as chairman of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), for the period 2015-2017.

     

    He was elected as chairman in the first meeting of the newly elected members of the Executive Committee held in Delhi recently. Elin Electronics (New Delhi) director B S Sethia and I2T2 India (Hyderabad) chairman Prasad VSS Garapati were elected as vice chairmen for the same period.

     

    ESC is India’s largest electronics and computer software trade promotion association with a pan-India membership base of over 2200 and its focus is on IT exports. ESC in partnership with its members has been able to address many of the challenges in the export front effectively and position the industry to reap the benefit from the next IT growth wave. The Council is endeavoring to create an enabling environment for the IT industry, SMEs in particular, rebranding the industry to showcase their expertise, innovations, and also aligning with the Government both at the Centre and States’ level to create a healthy export friendly environment.

     

    Chakraborty said, “Currently India is in the cusp of a digital and manufacturing revolution. Roll out of government programmes like Digital India, Make in India, Financial Inclusion etc. is creating vast spaces for virtual and brick and mortar industries to grow and support each other. Our effort in ESC will be to leverage these opportunities to create quantum leaps in the IT segment, particularly in the export efforts.”

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Aegis Network has promoted Ted Lim to chief creative officer of Dentsu Asia Pacific excluding Japan. Prior to this, Lim led Dentsu’s creative offering for Southeast Asia.

    Ray joins DDB Mudra, fresh from a five year stint at Ogilvy & Mather, where he was last designated client services director and led the consolidated advertising team on the IBM account. Before that, he was associated with prominent agencies like Euro RSCG, Ogilvy (earlier stint) and Fountainhead.

     

    Ray has had extensive experience across sectors both B2C and B2B, including but not limited to FMCG, consumer durables, real estate, healthcare, lifestyle, BFSI and IT and brings to the table, a high degree of proficiency in digital marketing.

    O&M worldwide chairman & CEO Miles Young to retire in 2016

    MUMBAI: Ogilvy & Mather worldwide chairman and CEO Miles Young will be retiring from this role next year to take up the position of Warden of his alma mater, New College at Oxford University. This appointment becomes effective September 2016.

     

    Until then, Young will continue in his current role at Ogilvy & Mather. Upon taking up his new position at Oxford, he will remain working closely with both Ogilvy and parent company, WPP, on a non-executive basis.

     

    Young, 61, has spent 32 years at Ogilvy & Mather, starting in the London office. He became chairman of Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific in 1995 where he spent 13 years building Asia Pacific into O&M’s fastest growing region. He assumed the role of global CEO in 2009 and his current role of chairman in July 2012.

     

    For the past six years he has led Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide to be the most effective and creative agency network in the world as recognized by the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and the Global Effie Effectiveness Index. 

     

    Young said, “This was a difficult decision, but the attraction of moving to a senior academic position in the UK was very great. Ogilvy & Mather and WPP have been part of my life for 32 years, and the intention is not to part company, but to be available to advise and consult, which I look forward to doing. My succession will be announced in due course. In the meantime it is business as usual.”
