    MUMBAI: A creative intellect with more than a decade of experience, Vijay Joseph has joined DDB Mudra south and east as a senior creative director. Based out of the agency’s Bengaluru office, Joseph would be reporting to DDB Mudra south and east creative head Vishnu Srivatsav.

     

    Joseph said, “I’m excited to join DDB Mudra south and east at a time when a new creative leadership is taking over. It gives me the chance to be a part of creative evolution that’s taking shape, than to merely join the ranks in a system that’s already in place.”

     

    Before joining DDB Mudra, he was associated with agencies such as JWT India, Ogilvy and Mather and Disha Advertising amongst others.

    During his earlier stints, Joseph has worked across various categories with a clientele base including brands like Nike, Van Heusen, Black Dog Scotch Whisky, Prestige Builders, IBM, Indus Pride, Scullers, Indigo Nation and TVS Mopeds.

    Snapdeal appoints Govind Rajan as chief strategy officer

    MUMBAI: Snapdeal has roped in Govind Rajan as its chief strategy officer, effective August 2015.

     

    Prior to his appointment at Snapdeal, he most recently served as chief marketing officer (B2C) at Bharti Airtel, where he was responsible for revenue and market share growth, customer life cycle management, and building marketing capability across the organisation.  Concurrently he also served as CEO – Airtel Money.

     

    Before joining Airtel, Rajan was with Hindustan Unilever (HUL). He joined HUL as a management trainee in 1997 before serving in various marketing and leadership roles. In his 15 plus years at Unilever he worked across a diverse range of categories and also led sales teams in varied terrain and a wide variety of channels – from modern trade to rural.

     

    While at HUL, he was the regional VP south Asia for skin cleansing and prior to that, VP for the skin care business. He also served as the customer marketing and sales operations head of HUL.

     

    His portfolio included marquee brands such as Dove, Ponds, Fair & Lovely, Vaseline, Lakme, Pears, Lifebuoy and Lux. In these roles he was responsible for driving the P&L, Portfolio management across brands, building new categories such as body lotions, face-wash, and leading in market execution.

     

    Rajan has masters in international business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras.

    MUMBAI: Continuing its focus on product excellence and the need for continuous investments in people development, Maxus has elevated some of its key people and strengthened the top management.

     

    Maxus West head Anand Chakravarthy who joined last year has been promoted to managing partner. He will continue to be based at Mumbai, leading the West team and expansion plans.

     

    Maxus South Asia digital head Unny Radhakrishnan has been promoted as chief digital officer. In his new role, he will be additionally responsible for developing new practices and investments and new offerings from Maxus Metalworks (the creative R&D lab of Maxus).

     

    Maxus digital strategy head Vishal Jacob has been promoted as national director – digital.

    In his new role, he will take over from Radhakrishnan and be responsible for the digital services of Maxus across offices.

     

    Maxus West digital head Sairam Ranganathan has been promoted as general manager. Additionally, he will be also responsible for the digital media product and digital training needs.

     

    Maxus Delhi client leader Mimi Deb who joined three years ago has been elevated to general manager. She will lead several large new businesses like Shopclues and several other blue chip clients which the agency won recently.

    MUMBAI: Havas Media Group India has announced a slew of senior level promotions.

     

    Havas Media India managing director Mohit Joshi has been named Havas Media Group India managing director. Havas Media-North executive director Uday Mohan has now been promoted to Havas Media-North & East managing partner. General manager Soumya Sarkar has been given additional charge as Havas Media-West general manager & branch head.

     

    Included in the promotions roster are – Abhishek Jain as executive VP investments, earlier VP investments. Mitesh Desai, head-creative, UX & UI is now national creative director and Gregory Phillip has been named associate VP-operations for Arena Media.

     

    Havas Media Group India & South Asia CEO Anita Nayyar said, “Havas Media Group in India has been growing at a rapid pace, last year we grew 42 per cent. It has been a straight line graph going upwards since we started operations in 2006 and we have aggressive plans ahead. Companies don’t grow on their own, they need – people.     Housing.com fires CEO Rahul Yadav

    MUMBAI: Mumbai based online realty platform, Housing.com has released its CEO Rahul Yadav, with immediate effect, after a regular board meeting, held earlier on 1 July. Yadav who is also the co-founder of the company, will no longer be an employee of Housing.com and be associated with the company in any manner, going forward.

     

    The Housing board, unanimously agreed to bring Yadav’s tenure to a close, with reference to his behaviour towards investors, ecosystem and the media. The board believed that his behaviour is not befitting of a CEO and is detrimental to the company, known for its innovative approach to product development, market expansion and brand building.

     

    While the search for an interim CEO is underway, a transition plan has been put in place. The current senior executives of Housing.com will continue to run the operations on a daily basis, and ensure its continued smooth functioning. The board and the operating committee will remain closely involved with all key decisions.   

     

    Through an official statement the company said. “The Housing.com board, investors, management team and employees are keen to see Housing maximise its huge potential in India and beyond, as well as run in professional and world class manner. This is part of our larger commitment to India and the start-up ecosystem, which together remains unaffected and as strong as ever.”

    MUMBAI: Online portal for personalized printing, Printvenue.com has appointed Bipin Narang as its chief executive officer for Southeast Asia. As part of his new role, he will be reporting directly to Printvenue CEO Gagan Arora.

    MUMBAI: Home shopping venture Shop CJ Network announces the appointment of Dhruva Chandrie as its chief sales officer. This appointment is key to further enhance the company’s procurement and operations. Chandrie, previously held the position of chief operating officer (COO) for HomeShop18 and has taken charge of his duties. He brings more than 22 years of experience to the role. He will be based out of the Mumbai office.

     

    Chandrie said, “With more players entering the television-commerce market, there is increase in the level of competition. It will be exciting times ahead.”
