    Rage Communications appoints Neville Medhora as India business head

    MUMBAI: Rage Communications has appointed Neville Medhora as its head of India business.

    Medhora till recently, the head of Rediffusion-Y&R’s Mumbai office joins Rage Communications after a twenty-year journey that traversed across most of the leading advertising agencies in India. 

    Apart from Rediffusion-Y&R, Neville has had substantial stints with Equus, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA and JWT. In his extensive advertising stint, Medhora has worked with some of the largest and most successful brands in India across many categories.

    Rage Communications director Karthik Kumar commented, “Neville’s joining Rage will add significant depth to Rage’s overall offerings in India and bring fresh thinking in the way digital will contribute to its clients building strong and sustainable engagements with their consumers.”

    Neville caught the digital bug about six years ago and spearheaded key digital initiatives of clients within the boundaries of the traditional off-line format. Recognizing its inherent weaknesses, he took a sabbatical to learn the intricacies of the digital world. Neville joins Rage Communications fresh from this sabbatical.

She also spent a year and a half at Ogilvy Singapore where she managed the GlaxoSmithKline, American Express and Kimberly Clark businesses.

    Her inherent leaning towards fashion and style, led her to the role of a Fashion Stylist at NBC in 2005 and more recently, at Condé Nast India where she led the Condé Nast factory – a content vertical for the publishing group.

    MUMBAI: After spending more than 23 years at the agency, Leo Burnett national planning director Rajeev Sharma has decided to move on to explore newer avenues.

    Sharma joined Leo Burnett in 1994 as vice president based out of the agency’s Delhi office and after three years he moved to Mumbai to lead planning as national planning director.

    Rajeev spearheaded strategy for many brands and partnered them in their success for years together. Some of the brands he has worked on include McDonald’s, Godrej Consumer Products, Bajaj Auto, Heinz, Complan, Glucon D, Thums Up, Maaza, Minute Maid, Limca, Reebok, Ariel, Ezee, Cinthol, Bajaj Electricals, HDFC Life, HDFC Bank, Anchor, Sony Entertainment Television, Tata Capital, Dabur, Pillsbury, Iodex, etc.

    Rajeev has played a significant role in building Leo Burnett’s reputation as India’s most trusted integrated communications company that has a sharp focus on strategy. He is also instrumental in bringing Leo Burnett’s best global practices to India.

    MUMBAI  – FCB Ulka Advertising today announced the appointment of Saad Khan as  strategy planning vice president. Khan has spent over 17 years building brands and has worked with some of the biggest advertising houses in India including Leo Burnett, Lowe Lintas, Dentsu Marcomm and Euro RSCG. In 2011, he founded ‘Marketing Unplugged’ along with Suman Srivastava.

    MUMBAI: Publicis Media Asia Pacific regional CEO  Gerry Boyle  has announced market leadership appointments for the APAC region.

    Responsible for oversight of Publicis Media’s operations in their respective markets, these appointments will leverage the scale and capabilities of its global agency brands Starcom, Zenith, Mediavest | Spark and Optimedia | Blue 449.

    APAC Publicis Media Market CEOs will be reporting to Boyle including Publicis Media Greater China (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan) CEO Bertilla Teo, Publicis Media India CEO Anupriya Acharya, Publicis Media Singapore CEO Gareth Mulryan and Publicis Media Australia and New Zealand CEO, Matt James.

    Xperio Labs appoints Ericsson’s Vineet Somakumar as VP & GM

    MUMBAI: Xperio Labs announced that Vineet Somakumar has joined the company as VP & GM, Somakumar would be primarily responsible for the P&L of the sales organization with sharp focus on South Asia and other emerging markets.

    Earlier Somakumar worked as the head of media sales and TV¬media Practice (Ericsson) in India. He took Ericsson to a leadership position in the cable sector besides maintaining its leadership position in the broadcast/DTH space. Besides South Asia, Somakumar also managed the sub Saharan Africa business for Ericsson for a brief period.

    Prior to joining Tandberg/Ericsson, he also worked for global brands namely Cisco/Scientific  Atlanta,  Siemens &  Alcatel  both  in  the  Service  Provider  & Enterprise space.

    On his appointment Somakumar said, “The consumer IoT space is soon getting at an inflection point and Xperio labs is well positioned to lead this space in emerging market. I am excited to start a new chapter with Xperio. Having worked with most of the founding team members in Scientific Atlanta/Cisco, it’s a kind of home coming for me”.
