    Ad, M&E stalwarts together in IAA’s Sony-backed first cricketing event in Mumbai

    MUMBAI: International Advertising Association (IAA) recently hosted the IAA Cricket League 2016, one of the most successful and largest cricketing events that brought the M&E and advertising fraternity together.

    Cricket being one of the most popular sports in the country and among corporate circles alike, the IAA Cricket League was a huge success with 24 teams from leading advertising and Media and Entertainment entities battling it out against each other to win the champion’s trophy. Presented by Sony Max, the two day event was held on November 5 & 12 at The Islam and Wilson Gymkhana at Marine Lines.

    With many intense rounds of games and a nail-biting finish, the Mid Day team was adjudged the winner, while The Social Street bagged the runners up title. IAA president Neeraj Roy, and IAA vice president Monica Tata presented the winner’s trophy to the victorious eleven from the Mid-Day team.

    MUMBAI: Publicis Capital Delhi has appointed Nitin Pradhan as head of creative. Pradhan has, in the past, worked with Mudra, Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, McCann, JWT and his last stint was as a director with Curious Films.

    Melanie Torres is GRB Entertainment’s new international sales director

    MUMBAI: Melanie Torres has been appointed as the new director of GRB Entertainment’s international sales, and will be responsible for profitability and sales growth in Latin America, U.S. Hispanic, CEE, CIS and Spanish-speaking Europe.

    Torres was previously the associate manager of international content distribution at A+E Networks, where she spent four years between the New York and London offices working across Latin America, US Hispanic, US Syndication, Canada, UK, Benelux, CEE and CIS. Torres began her television career at BBC America assisting the head of distribution for Latin America. She is a graduate of Florida State University.

    Liz Levenson has been upped to Vice President, Acquisitions & Sales. She has been with GRB Entertainment for 3 years and was previously in a Director role. Levenson handles worldwide acquisitions for the international division and is responsible for sales in Africa, Middle East, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

    MUMBAI: Melanie Torres has been appointed as the new director of GRB Entertainment’s international sales, and will be responsible for profitability and sales growth in Latin America, U.S. Hispanic, CEE, CIS and Spanish-speaking Europe.

    MUMBAI: Leo Burnett India has brought on board Arjuna Gaur as the executive creative director. In his new mandate, Gaur will lead the creative function of the North operations.

    To be based in New Delhi, Gaur will report to Leo Burnett south Asia CCO RajDeepak Das.

    Gaur joins the agency from M&C Saatchi Kuala Lumpur. He has 10 years of experience, including stints at Grey and BBDO India, where he worked with RajDeepak.

    Speaking about his move, Gaur said, “Most people I met prior to joining Leo Burnett, spoke with great authority about the future of advertising and how their respective agencies were going to define it. Raj, on the other hand, spoke very fast, and threw a million ideas at me. A million very good ideas.”

    Gaur is a passionate and energetic creative professional, with several award-winning campaigns to his name. He has worked across categories and brands, his most well-known work being the ‘I Feel Up’ campaign for 7UP, Quaker Oats’ ‘Make India Heart Healthy’ and ‘Art By The People’ for GE India among many others. He has won multiple awards for his campaigns at Spikes Asia, Effies, The One Show and the Kancils in Malaysia.

    Das said, “Gaur is one of those few people who personifies ‘creativity’. We have worked together for 7-8 years at BBDO India, and I love the energy he brings to the table. I love that he is a geek, I love that he understands human behaviour, applies it to his craft, and makes the ad-meet-the-tech-meet-the-idea.”

    Rajesh Ghatge is new Indigo CEO

    MUMBAI: Rajesh Ghatge has joined as the chief executive officer of the digital agency Indigo Consulting of the Leo Burnett Group to lead the 300-plus employees across Indigo Consulting and Indigo iStrat. Based out of the Mumbai office, he will report to Leo Burnett south Asia CEO South Asia Saurabh Verma.

    Verma said: “We wanted a leader who can create a new curve; Rajesh brings with him the energy, the passion and the drive to create a new destiny for Indigo Consulting. My brief to him is to make us the most respected digital agency in the country, bar none.”

Under his leadership, the company leveraged technology and digital for activation marketing and demand generation and grew to become a top-ranked agency in India and Singapore. Bates CHI & Sercon also gathered prestigious laurels such as the ‘Best Brand Promotion Agency’ (ET), the B2B Marketing Award (London) and DMA (Asia and India).

    Ghatge has extensive knowledge and experience in brand activation, digital and retail marketing, web and app-enabled products and services and the training domain. He led award-winning campaigns for large brands like P&G, Colgate, Oracle, Nokia, Dell and Castrol. An alumnus of the Institute of Rural Management in Anand, he has an MBA degree.
