    Dentsu Webchutney appoints Pravin Sutar as executive creative director

    MUMBAI: Dentsu Webchutney, the digital agency from Dentsu Aegis Network, has appointed Pravin Sutar as executive creative director. 

    He will be based out of the agency’s Mumbai office. His last stint was with Leo Burnett, where he handled some of the biggest brands in the country including HDFC Bank, HDFC Life, Amazon and Park Avenue.

    With over 17 years of cross-category, cross-platform experience along with a diverse set of exposure spanning marketing, digital and creative, Sutar is all set to lead the charge for the agency.

    Hemant Tiwari appointed Hitachi Vantara GM for India biz

    MUMBAI: Hitachi Vantara, a subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd has appointed Hemant Tiwari as the general manager for India business. 

    Tiwari will lead the Vantara business and operations in India with a focus on growing the overall business, accelerating the expansion of the company’s revenue, market share in India and building up the partner ecosystem.

    He brings to Hitachi Vantara a vast experience driving the growth of data centre, hybrid cloud portfolio across consumer, enterprise server, storage and networking.

    Hemant Tiwari comes with an experience of over 35 years in IT industry. Prior to joining Hitachi, he worked with Hewlett Packard for over two decades at various senior management positions across India and Asia.

    Kinetic elevates Rachana Lokhande, Charanjeet Arora as joint CEOs

    MUMBAI: WPP’s media planner and digital innovator of outdoor advertising agency, Kinetic India has elevated Rachana Lokhande and Charanjeet Singh Arora as joint CEOs. 

    Lokhande and Arora will replace Suresh Balakrishna who resigned earlier in July. 

    Prior to the elevation, Lokhande was working as the vice president of trading and operations at Kinetic India while Arora served as senior vice president for clients.

    MUMBAI: Global confectionery and snacking company, Hershey, has appointed Partha Gangopadhyay as the new director for supply chain in India. 

    Partha Gangopadhyay takes over from Gunasekaran, who retires this year. Partha brings with him a rich experience of more than 24 years in all areas of manufacturing and supply chain such as production, quality assurance, maintenance, plant projects, R&D projects and multiple franchisee operations. He joins Hershey from Mondelez India Foods Private Ltd where he worked as associate director for integrated supply chain operations, central India cluster.

    Hershey India managing director Herjit Bhalla says, “I am delighted to welcome Partha to Hershey India. Partha brings with him a vast experience and keen insights on market dynamics and customer orientation.     Religious most benefitted genre in Chrome DM week 28

    MUMBAI: With a growth of 2.05 per cent as compared to last week (27), the religious genre marked the highest opportunity to see (OTS) among all categories in week 28 of Chrome Data Analytics & Media.

    In the religious genre, Sanskar gained the highest OTS with 98.6 per cent in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market.

    OTS is the actual census-based percentage connectivity of a channel spread across 81 million homes, reported by Chrome DM, across analogue cable, digital cable and DTH. 

    The second position in the gainer’s list of OTS was grabbed by the Hindi GEC genre with the growth of 1.21 per cent in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market. DD National was the most benefitted channel in this category with 99.5 per cent.

    The third position in the gainers was garnered by the youth genre in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market with 0.96 per cent OTS. MTV gained the highest OTS with 92.2 per cent.

    The infotainment genre was at the fourth position in the list with 0.80 per cent growth and NGC catered to 91.8 per cent OTS in All India 1 Lakh+ market.

    The fifth spot was garnered by the music genre with 0.33 per cent growth and Sony Mix was the most benefitted channel with 92.0 per cent OTS in HSM excluding the less than 1L-market.

  • Sanjeev Chhabra joins Brightstar telecom as director for India business

    MUMBAI: SoftBank subsidiary Brightstar Corp has appointed Sanjeev Chhabra as the new director of India business, the company said in a release on Tuesday.

    Earlier Chhabra was responsible for thr B2B enterprise business at Brightstar, has taken over the role of director from Deval Parikh. In his new role Sanjiv will be responsible for Brightstar’s business across the India market.

    Prior to this Chhabra was senior vice president at a B2B enterprise business where he was responsible for profitable growth of the business unit and worked closely with OEM and channel partners.

    He brings with him more than 22 years of experience in ICT industry, out of which last 10 years have been with Brightstar. He had previously worked in roles including direct partner engagement and vendor relationships.

  • TATA AIA elevates Rishi Srivastava as CEO and MD

    MUMBAI: In a recent development, Tata AIA Life, a private life insurer has announced Rishi Srivastava as the new chief executive officer and managing director starting 1 August 2018 subject to regulatory approval from IRDAI. Srivastava will replace Naveen Tahilyani.

    Srivastava is currently chief of proprietary channels, product, marketing and corporate communication at Tata AIA. He has been active in setting up and driving Tata AIA’s agency workforce and successfully building the unique premier agency model in India which aims to providing enhanced overall customer experience.

    Srivastava brings with him more than 20 years of experience in finance and insurance. Prior to this, he was CEO at ICICI Prudential before moving to ICICI Bank as general manager and then on to AXA as director of the agency business in Jakarta.

    He joined Tata AIA in 2016. Srivastava started his career with Dabur India Limited as a area sales manager and product manager.

    He has led strong, profitable growth at Tata AIA over the past three and half years, with a focus on delivering a multi-distribution business, best-in-class customer experience and building a differentiated protection-oriented franchise.
