    MUMBAI: Rainmaker Ventures-backed digital content company, YAAP, has appointed Rachit Dewan as its AVP business development. Dewan will be based out of the Gurugram office and will oversee business development for YAAP across India. He will report directly to Manan Kapur, partner at YAAP. 

    Dewan has over 12 years and has worked with companies like Fork Media, Qoruz, MailBrainiers and EsellerSmart and others.

    Kapur said, “With the rapid evolution in digital and media spaces, content is the biggest differentiator in the current times. Rachit will be responsible for creating such digital solutions for client’s needs and creating business opportunities for Yaap.     Paytm Money appoints Varun Sridhar as CEO

    NEW DELHI: India’s largest online investment & wealth management platform Paytm Money today announced the appointment of Varun Sridhar, as the new chief executive officer of Paytm Money. He will lead the launch & development of the equity brokerage other than growing the already successful mutual funds, NPS and Gold services. Under his leadership, the company will continue to simplify, innovate, and bring wealth management products to millions of Indians. He will be reporting to Amit Nayyar, president at Paytm.

    Sridhar has led the digital transformation journey of some of the top retail banks in India and abroad. Most recently he served as CEO of FinShell India where he launched realme PaySa a fintech platform on mobile. Prior to this role, he was with BNP Paribas for close to eight years where amongst other assignments he supported the acquisition of Sharekhan. As a board member & member of the executive committee, he supported the scale-up of the digital equity brokerage & mutual fund business. He did his MBA from the prestigious SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan Italy, and graduated from the University of Delhi.

    NEW DELHI: Posterscope India, location-based marketing specialist from the house of Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN), has announced the elevation of Deepak Kumar to the role of director, while Fabian Cowan dons the new enhanced role of country head, effective immediately. They will continue to report to Haresh Nayak, president, Posterscope APAC & COO DAN Media Brands.

    Under the fresh mandate, Kumar will continue to lead Ambient, ROOH, C Lab. Additionally, he will also take charge of Brandscope, the hyperlocal out of home specialist under DAN. Kumar joined Posterscope Group as vice president in 2013. Prior to that, Kumar was with Times of India.

    In the new expanded role, Cowan will be responsible for scaling up Posterscope’s business, nationwide and drive growth for the budding entities – Eunoia and Indeed Smart City. He joined Posterscope India in 2011, and today boasts of an advertising career straddling over 26 years.

    Hephzibah Pathak promoted to vice chairman of Ogilvy India

    She has been a brand champion for clients like Orange/Hutch/Vodafone, Unilever, and Cadbury's among others. Pathak's golden run includes heading Ogilvy's Mumbai office, appointment as director on the Ogilvy India Board and her current role as chief client officer, Ogilvy India.

    NEW DELHI: Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN), the global media & marketing communications conglomerate, has now entrusted Soumitra Karnik, currently chief creative officer (CCO) at Dentsu Impact and mcgarrybowen India, with the additional charge of CCO, Dentsu India. He will assume this role for Dentsu India, the full-service agency headquartered in Bangalore, with immediate effect, and will report into DAN India creative chairman Agnello Dias.

    Under the expanded mandate, Karnik will lead Dentsu India’s creative output nationally and will be responsible for maintaining and amplifying a robust client-agency relationship for the agency across its offices in Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Kochi.
