    New Delhi: Soft Bank Group’s former senior director Asia communications and public affairs Paroma Roy Chowdhury is joining Dream Sports as chief communications and advocacy officer.

    Dream Sports is the parent company of Dream11, the recent sponsor of IPL 2020 and the leader in fantasy sports category. 

    Chowdhury stepped down from her role in 2020.

    She has over three decades of experience and has worked as a journalist and communications head across multiple brands such as GE Capital, HP, Bharti Airtel, Google India and SoftBank.

    Founded in 2008, Dream Sports include brands such as FanCode, sports accelerator program DreamX, and sports-focused tour agency DreamSetGo. The company has more than 100m users, capitalising on the passion for cricket in the world's second-largest internet market.

    Shenoy has over two decades of experience in advertising, brand management and marketing communications. In the past, he has worked with Pepsico and Reliance Capital and worked on execution of strategies for various marquee brands.     Damyant Singh Khanoria is Oppo India’s new CMO

    NEW DELHI: China-based global smart device brand Oppo has announced the appointment of Damyant Singh Khanoria as its new CMO for India operations. In his new role, Khanoria will be spearheading the marketing operations and will be reporting to Oppo India president Elvis Zhou.

    Khanoria comes to Oppo from Apple India where he was the marketing communication lead. He is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience and has worked across marketing portfolios. His experience in building and optimising go-to-market strategy for technology brands will be instrumental for the brand.

    Zhou said, “I am confident that his experience of connecting customer desires with business needs will help propel OPPO India to greater heights during its next phase of growth. On behalf of our entire team, I extend a warm welcome to Damyant.”

    Ajmera had left the hospitality chain earlier this year, as it extended mandatory leave for its employees and offered them voluntary separation amidst the Covid2019 crisis. He had spent more than five years at Oyo. He had joined as region head – north in 2015, and then was elevated to the position of COO India & South Asia in 2019. He was made the global revenue head in January 2020.

    NEW DELHI: Personal care brand Mamaearth has appointed Essence, part of GroupM, as its integrated media agency. The account will be managed out of Essence’s Delhi office.

    The agency will be responsible for media planning and activation for Mamaearth’s brand building and awareness campaigns.

Varghese brings in a track record of 25+ years of leading large-scale business transformations and building diverse and successful businesses around media, creative, digital, data, content, sports, and performance.  

    Prior to joining ShareChat, Varghese was the global president at WPP group’s Wavemaker, known among the world’s top five media networks with clients ranging from industry giants like Vodafone, L’Oreal, Huawei, IKEA, Paramount Pictures, Chanel, Xerox, Netflix, Chevron, Beiersdorf, and Tiffany.

    Zomato’s Gaurav Verma is new PharmEasy CMO

    NEW DELHI: PharmEasy has brought in former Zomato CMO Gaurav Verma to lead its marketing operations.

    "Delighted to announce that I am joining the excellent team at PharmEasy! They have built a phenomenal quirky brand and am super excited to see what new heights we can take it to," said Verma in a post on his LinkedIn profile.

    Verma joined Zomato in 2019. Soon, he was elevated to global growth head of dining out for a brief period of six months. Soon, he was given the mantle for marketing in April this year.

    He led the brand marketing activities for Zomato throughout the pandemic and spearheaded several interesting campaigns. He exited the food delivery platform in November 2020.

    Verma has 15 years of experience in the industry and has worked at leading companies like Pepsico, ITC, Lenovo, and Tata Tea. His longest stint was at Pepsico where he operated in different categories such as Tropicana, Lays, Kurkure, and others.
