    CEO Priya Jayaraman exits Saatchi & Saatchi Propagate

    NEW DELHI: Saatchi & Saatchi Propagate CEO Priya Jayaraman has moved on, the agency said in a statement on Thursday.

    Jayaraman was the founder of Propagate (erstwhile Propaganda India), which was later acquired by the Publicis Groupe and merged with L&K Saatchi & Saatchi (LKSS) in 2019 and rechristened Saatchi & Saatchi Propagate.

    It's been a decade of a journey of creating a digital agency from inception and seeing it through to becoming a part of a global entity," said Jayaraman. "I feel blessed and humbled to have met such fabulous colleagues who built their careers here, of many clients who trusted their journey with us."

    She will be replaced by Charles Victor, who has been elevated to chief operating officer. Victor has been with LKSS for 15 years, working across creative, mainline and digital. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving business growth and strategic direction at the agency while also continuing to serve as the executive director of LKSS. He will report to managing director LKSS Paritosh Srivastava.

    “Would like to thank Priya immensely for her contribution and hard work in making SSP into a powerful digital offering with a national footprint with some amazing client partners and talent,” said Srivastava.

    Saatchi & Saatchi Propagate has also appointed Sabah Iqbal as SVP and head. She will report to Victor and joins the agency from Digitas, where she was SVP – west and south.

    The full-service digital agency boasts a roster of high-profile clients, such as MaxLife Insurance, Max Group, Scripbox, Practo, ESPN CricInfo, Embassy Springs, Revlon, Dailyhunt among others.

    MUMBAI: Integrated marketing company Gozoop has appointed Megha Ahuja as group director – brand communications. Based out of the company’s Mumbai HQ, Ahuja will report to Gozoop vice president- national operations Premkumar Iyer. 

    Ahuja will lead the mandates of Dell, Bisleri, Tata Steel, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, World Gold Council, and Tata Class Edge, the company said.

    Prior to joining Gozoop, she was with L&K Saatchi, where she spearheaded account management for brands such as Renault Duster & Blackberrys Menswear. During her formative years as a marketer, Ahuja’s career spanned internationally with Leo Burnett Dubai & InPress Hakuhodo Dubai, where she was recognised for some award-winning and industry-shaping work.

    Shriram Sanjeevi moves on from Levista Coffee

    NEW DELHI: Levista Coffee vice president Shriram Sanjeevi has moved on after a 16-month-long stint at the brand.

    According to reports, Sanjeevi announced the news in a personal message to industry colleagues. "I have stepped down from Levista on 3 April 2021. Levista Coffee is poised for a huge leap of growth this new financial year, and it’s all in your hands to support this budding baby brand and help it to scale great heights. I will cherish every moment that I’ve spent in this company all my life,” he wrote.

    At Levista, he led the sales and marketing division, branding, supply chain management and overall business strategy.

    An IIM-Bangalore alumnus, Sanjeevi has worked with marquee companies such as RPG Retail, The Future Group, Café Coffee Day and Royal Enfield (Eicher Motors). In 2006, he joined the start-up team responsible for the opening of Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, which also happened to be India’s first private greenfield airport. 

    In his subsequent roles, he helped set up 140 outlets for Café Coffee Day across India and had a two-year spell with Royal Enfield Motorcycles, where he was responsible for expanding the company’s dealership network.

    During his close to 25 years in the retail industry, Sanjeevi has been conferred several awards that include Top 100 Retail Minds by World Federation of Marketing in 2018, and Top 50 Retail Professionals of India by Asia Retail Congress in 2014.

    Homegrown coffee brand Levista is currently present across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

    NEW DELHI: Axis Bank’s Asha Kharga has joined Mahindra Group as chief customer and brand officer. She announced her move in a LinkedIn post.

    At Axis Bank, she worked as executive vice president and group chief marketing officer.

    Prior to joining Axis Bank in November 2016, Kharga had an eight-year-long association with FMCG major Hindustan Unilever (HUL), during which she served in various capacities. Her last role at HUL was as marketing director, Brooke Bond and Lipton tea.  

    A senior marketing professional with over two decades of experience, she has also had stints with ad agencies like Leo Burnett, JWT and TBWA.

    Kharga has a Masters in management studies and marketing.

    New Delhi: Airliner Indigo's chief digital officer Nitin Sethi has moved on from the organisation and joined Adani Group as chief digital officer – consumer business.

    "I am looking forward to enabling digital transformation, customer-centric design thinking, customer empathy, technology roadmap, and unified thinking of the group’s consumer businesses. It is an exciting start of being an Intrapreneur at what I see as one of the world’s largest start-up environments", he announced on LinkedIn.

    Sethi carries more than two decades of experience in digital transformation and product design and was previously leading digital transformation for Indigo Airlines at Gurugram. Before working with Indigo, Sethi worked with Quikr as VP and group head experience and product design for around three years. He has also worked with CommonFloor.com as head of product design and experience and with Appigizer as an investor and mentor.

    Specialising in leading multi-functional teams and establishing best user experience practices and processes, Sethi has previously had stints at Info Edge India (Naukri.com Group), India Art Village, Babyoye.com, Dainik Bhaskar Group, Prism Education, Mega Softwares, rediff.com, Times Internet, and Bharti Airtel.

    Former RBI director Urjit Patel appointed as Britannia’s additional director

    NEW DELHI: Consumer goods major Britannia has appointed former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Urjit Patel as the company's additional director. Patel will serve as the additional director for Britannia for a period of five years, from 31 March 2021 up to 30 March 2026. 

    "The board of directors of the company at their meeting held today 31 March 2021, approved the appointment of Dr Urjit Patel, as an additional director of the company in the category of non-executive and independent director," said Britannia in a BSE filing. 

    A PhD holder in economics from Yale University, Urjit Patel served as the 24th governor of the RBI from 4 September 2016 to 10 December 2018, succeeding Raghuram Rajan. However, Patel stepped down before the end of his term citing personal reasons, thus becoming the fifth RBI governor to have resigned before the end of the term. 

    After completing his PhD in 1990, Patel joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and worked in several countries like the United States, India, Bahamas, and Myanmar. 

    He is currently the chairman of the governing body of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy. He is also on the Investment Advisory Committee of the Army Group Insurance.

    NEW DELHI: Digital advertising agency RepIndia has brought on Shaunik Sachdev as the associate vice president, client strategy.

    In his previous role, Sachdev was senior manager, growth marketing and partnerships at WeWork India. He was also associated with Dentsu Webchutney in the past.

    "With my varied experience in banking, real estate and start-ups, I hope to bring a unique strategic approach to the way of working with brands to accelerate their business. RepIndia is ready to unlock it’s next phase of growth and it’s an exciting time to be part of the team," Sachdev said.

    Google’s Rahul Roy-Chowdhury joins Grammarly as global head of product

    NEW DELHI: Digital writing assistant software Grammarly has roped in Google’s Rahul Roy-Chowdhury as global head of product. Roy-Chowdhury announced the move via a post on professional networking site LinkedIn. He was with the search giant for 14 years in various capacities, the most recent being vice president – product management.

    “I leave Google with a sense of gratitude and tremendous pride at how our work at Google improved the lives of billions of people around the world. From working on Chrome from the early days to scaling it to billions of users to working on making Google’s product offerings more private, safe, and secure, it’s been a blast,” he wrote.

    At Google, Roy-Chowdhury was leading the privacy, safety, and security teams to unified solutions across the tech behemoth's product portfolio. Prior to that, he spent ten years on Chrome, leading the product management teams for Chrome browser and Chrome OS. He has also had stints at Solidcore Systems and Lazard Frères. He has a BA in mathematics from Hamilton College, an MS in computer science from Columbia University, and an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

    Grammarly CEO Brad Hoover wrote in a blog post welcoming the new appointee, "Rahul brings deep expertise leading product, data, and design teams to build and scale them to a broad global audience. This includes building out widely used consumer products, developer platforms, and enterprise offerings, with a focus on privacy and user trust.”

    NEW DELHI: Infectious Advertising has roped in Nitin Sharma as its vice president – business.

    At Infectious, Sharma will be responsible for leading important businesses for the agency. He will work closely with founding partner Nisha Singhania to not only consolidate existing businesses but also look at organic plus new business growth, the agency said in a press statement.

    Sharma joins from the UAE Exchange in Dubai where he was the director – marketing strategy. He has also had stints at agencies like Ambience, Ogilvy, DDB Mudra and Leo Burnett India. With close to two decades of work experience spanning across advertising and marketing, he has managed brands across the entire spectrum of categories for different agencies.

    "Today’s complex and dynamic marketing landscape demands a truly integrated, multi-dimensional approach to fully leverage the opportunities businesses have or solve for the problems they face.     MUMBAI: Bengaluru-based Three Wheels United (TWU) has appointed Hardip Singh Goindi as the company’s chief operating officer (COO).

    An industry veteran, Goindi brings 38 plus years of leadership experience in managing operations for well-known automotive brands in domestic and international markets. He will lead TWU’s expansion across multiple cities and focus on building strategic partnerships for the company.

    Goindi has previously worked at Piaggio Vehicles as executive vice president where he was responsible for manufacturing operations, domestic marketing, sales, after market service, international business and parts business. Prior to Piaggio, he was president-marketing at TVS Motor Company. In his 12 year long stint at TVS, he also served as the senior vice president for international business and three-wheelers.

    The IIM-Ahmedabad alum also had a stint as the head of marketing and sales at Mahindra Holidays and Resorts.
