    Sanchita Roy takes over as head of strategy at Havas Media Group India

    Mumbai: Havas Media Group India has strengthened its leadership team with Sanchita Roy taking over as head of strategy on Thursday.

    Roy had joined the group as head of west to manage the overall Mumbai operations in 2020 and carries over 19 years of experience in media planning and strategy. 

    In her new role, she will be responsible for driving the growth strategy for Havas Media Group India and leading strategic investments for its clients. Roy will continue to report to Havas Media Group India CEO Mohit Joshi, the global media agency said.

    Roy comes with a vast experience in FMCG, telecom, tourism and auto having worked across key global businesses such as Unilever, J&J, Beiersdorf, SC Johnson, Reckitt, AB InBev, Nissan, Tourism Australia and Vodafone, and domestic businesses such as Parle Agro and Berger Paints to name a few.

    In her previous role, she was heading the strategy function for Omnicom India across both agency brands, OMD and PHD. She was also responsible for rolling out PHD’s strategic planning process, Source, in India and has several thought-leadership articles to her name. Her previous stints also include Wavemaker and Mindshare. Sanchita has been a recipient of coveted industry awards namely, Media Abbys, CMO Asia, Emvies and Campaign Asia Account Person of the Year.

    Panasonic India forms new strategic business division – Spatial Solutions

    NEW DELHI: Panasonic India has unveiled its new Spatial Solution Division, a move to expand the company's strong presence in the smart home solutions market. The Japanese electronics giant has also promoted Dinesh Agarwal as the new joint managing director of Panasonic Life Solutions. 

    In this new role, Agarwal will directly report to Panasonic India and South Asia President and CEO Manish Sharma. 

    "At Panasonic, we aim at updating the quality of living spaces with comfort, convenience and seamless connectivity. The formation of Spatial Solutions is a strategic endeavour towards this objective. We already have a strong market presence across consumer appliances and living solutions, and I am confident that under Dinesh’s dynamic leadership, the Spatial Solutions Division will drive significant growth for us in the real estate sector too in the coming years," said Sharma.

    Spatial Solutions will operate as a separate division that will combine the expertise of Consumer Appliances and Life Solutions to accelerate Smart Home Living Solutions including Miraie, Panasonic’s IoT & AI enabled Connected Living platform. The division will also focus on enhancing the solution architecture and develop new partnerships and alliances.

    The Smart Home Solutions is Panasonic’s key strategy for the Indian market and its progressive trajectory. The new division is expected to solidify the company’s commitment and focus that could fuel the growth of b2b, b2c, and b2g business segments.

    Carat India appoints Dipika Bhasin as executive vice president

    MUMBAI: Dentsu International’s media agency Carat India has brought on Dipika Bhasin as executive vice president. In her new role, Dipika will lead the agency’s north and east offices, drive growth in these regions, and focus on developing and managing Carat's senior client relationship. She will report into Carat India CEO Anita Kotwani.

    Armed with more than 20 years’ experience, Bhasin has expertise in working with diverse teams, functions, industries, and has worked on challenging business leadership roles to drive business growth. In her previous stint with PHD Worldwide, she held the position of senior vice president and was responsible for media management. She pivoted the digital media operations and their effectiveness for marketers in the media mix.

    Bhasin has handled top brands like LG, Vivo, Royal Enfield, HP, SC Johnson, Perfetti, Maruti, Snapdeal, SAP, Adidas, Nissan and also various non-profit organisations. Additionally, she has also worked with Aircel and on brands that include consumer durables, FMCG, e-commerce and auto.

    Satish Krishnamurthy is TBWAIndia’s new chief strategy officer

    MUMBAI: TBWAIndia has appointed Satish Krishnamurthy as chief strategy officer, with immediate effect. He takes over from Subramanian Krishnan, who will be transitioning into a part time consulting role with the agency.

    Before joining TBWAIndia, Krishnamurthy was head of strategy at Sideways Consulting based out of Mumbai. Prior to that, he was with telecom major Jio as general manager – brand strategy for close to two years.

    MUMBAI: MMA, formerly known as the Mobile Marketing Association, has appointed L’Oréal India managing director Amit Jain as chairperson of its India board of directors.

    Jain succeeds Priya Nair, who is the executive director – beauty and personal care at Hindustan Unilever. Nair will move into a new role as chair emeritus of MMA India.

    “MMA has been doing stellar work in helping marketers use insights and tools to harness the convergence of marketing and technology to drive personalised and customised engagement, in line with evolving consumer needs and purchase behaviour.     NEW DELHI: Hershey India has appointed Rajeshwari Jayaraman as general manager – marketing (category lead).

    "Excited about this journey… Onward and upward," she wrote on professional networking site LinkedIn on her new role.

    Jayaraman joins the company from Nivea, where she was serving as senior product manager for around two years. She has more than 10 years of experience in the FMCG industry across personal care and foods categories.

    Prior to joining Nivea, she also worked with General Mills for around four years as associate marketing manager. In the past, she has had stints with Cavinkare and Marico.

    Rajeshwari pursued her MBA in marketing/marketing management from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research.

    HUL’s Deepika Bhan to lead Tata Consumer Products’ packaged foods biz

    NEW DELHI: Tata Consumer Products (TCP) has roped in Deepika Bhan as the new president of the company’s packaged foods division in India. The appointment will come into effect from 27 April 2021.

    Bhan joins TCP from Hindustan Unilever, where she was global brand director – haircare for south Asia. She has had varied stints in sales, customer marketing, media, brand and category/ P&L roles in her career during which she has led large teams across brands and portfolios. She has also worked with PepsiCo and Tata Motors.

    “We are delighted to welcome Deepika on board to lead our foods portfolio. We aspire to build this business through agility, innovation and strengthening our brands, and Deepika will lead us in this exciting growth phase,” said Tata Consumer Products MD & CEO Sunil D’Souza.

    TCP's foods portfolio includes brands such as Tata Salt, Tata Sampann and Soulfull. In India, the company has a reach of over 200 million households, along with an annual turnover of Rs 10,000 crore with operations in domestic and international markets.

    MUMBAI: Direct-to-consumer beauty and personal care brand MyGlamm has appointed former head of growth and revenue of Medlife & Myntra- Bhavesh Singhal as its chief growth officer.  

    Singhal brings over 10 years of extensive experience in growth, analytics and consumer tech to the organisation. In his previous role, he was responsible for driving business revenue by building strong growth levers and new propositions for users on the platforms. He was also responsible for the b2b business channel in Medlife, which acted as a bridge between the offline and online world.

    Prior to Medlife, Singhal served as head of revenue and growth at leading e-commerce platform, Myntra. Having closely worked with teams, he also led to business growth that equates to seven times more than when he joined.

    At MyGlamm, Singhal will be managing the company’s digital growth and revenue across it’s d2c platform and third party marketplaces; through metrics like new user acquisition, social media ROIs, customer engagement and retention.

    Bacardi India taps Zeenah Vilcassim as marketing director

    NEW DELHI: International spirits company Bacardi India, has appointed Zeenah Vilcassim as marketing director. She will head consumer and customer marketing across the entire Bacardi portfolio of brands starting this month.

    Vilcassim will be responsible for driving synergies across marketing, commercial and finance teams to ensure campaigns are effective, impactful and deliver on business goals. She will be based out of the company’s Gurugram head office and report to Bacardi India managing director Sanjit Randhawa.

    She began her career with Bacardi four years ago as global brand director for Dewar’s Scotch whisky. During this time, she focused on growing the brand’s footprint in emerging markets and oversaw the marketing of three award winning innovations.

    Vilcassim said, “During my time as global director for Dewar’s Scotch whisky, India was – and still is – one of our most exciting markets. It is incredibly diverse, dynamic and constantly evolving. Each one of our iconic brands has an opportunity to play an authentic role in the hearts and minds of the Indian consumer.     Vilcassim began her career as an economist and moved to a management consultant role in global banking at Ernst and Young. She has held previous positions within digital analytics and content and also led the entire UK operations as managing director at Protein before joining the team at Bacardi.

    Pallavi Singh exits BMW India, takes a sabbatical

    MUMBAI: BMW India marketing head Pallavi Singh has stepped down from her role. Singh took to professional networking platform LinkedIn to break the news. In the post, she stated that she will be on a sabbatical for the next year or so and will be focusing more on driving impact projects and initiatives for start-ups and non-profit organisations. 

    "The last decade has been super exciting and eventful. We have witnessed major shifts in society – climate change, communication, mobility, clean energy, social connections, and healthcare. The underlying theme for my work during this time has been to harness the power of communities, build sustainable and meaningful brands, and leverage technology to make an impact," she wrote.

    Singh added that the world has been changed fundamentally and radically across various dimensions, especially after the Covid2019 outbreak. 

    "The truth is, that great changes have been in the works way before this global pandemic. These will forever have an impact on work, life, and play," her post said. 

    Singh has more than 15 years of experience in various marketing functions. She started her career in 2007 in Yamaha as an assistant manager. Later, she joined Harley Davidson Motor Company and worked there for eight years. She left the company as director – marketing. In 2017, she moved to MG Motors India as the head of marketing and worked there until 2019. In 2019, BMW India brought her on. 

    "My focus and efforts are now aimed at engaging with businesses, brands, start-ups, and non-profits to work on – demystifying and leveraging our digital-first reality, Creating data-centric strategies for business, and Building purpose & vision-based programs," Singh detailed her future plans.
