    Anwesh Bose moves on from Whisper Media

    New Delhi: Anwesh Bose, the chief executive officer of the ad-tech company Whisper Media has moved on from the company, after leading it for over a year.

    Bose shared the update in a LinkedIn post and added that 31 May was officially his last day at Whisper Media. “I start a new inning tomorrow and will continue to be based in Jakarta. However, today is about Whisper Media… I am confident that Whisper will keep marching forward from one successful milestone to another. Thank you for 500+ memorable days, mates,” he wrote.

    Bose had joined Whisper Media in January, 2020. He was previously associated with Havas Group, Jakarta, Indonesia in leadership positions. He has also worked with DDB Mudramax, Delhi as senior vice president for nearly three years. He was business head of media for north and east India and business head of digital media for all India. He also had a brief stint with Dentsu Asia as a media consultant

    “My stint at Whisper has been my shortest professionally but a very successful & meaningful one, despite Covid-19. Every team member contributed their bit with passion and commitment to make it happen & we were ably supported in equal measure by the management. Thank you team Whisper Media,” wrote Bose in his post.

    Mumbai: Zenith India on Tuesday appointed Priyanka Kapur as vice president to lead its Nestlé business. She will be responsible for media planning, relationship management, and supervising the complete and integrated offering for the client. Her key focus will be on strategy, digital transformation, data, analytics, implementation, and buying.

    A postgraduate from NMIMS, Kapur has over 18 years of rich experience in media and marketing. Her last assignment was with Lodestar UM for almost ten years as connections lead for its key client Coca-Cola. Her role involved spearheading the strategic planning product across portfolio brands and crafting solutions, connecting brands to consumers. She was also responsible for research and insights and remained updated on the latest consumer trends to build them seamlessly into solutions for brands.

    Kapur has also worked as a marketer with NDTV, led new business development at Balaji Telefilms, and as a media planner on some prestigious accounts like Tata Motors and Zodiac.

    Kavita Kamath joins Wondrlab as group creative director

    Mumbai: India’s largest platform-first martech startup, Wondrlab, has bolstered its creative team. The startup has brought in Kavita Kamath as group creative director. In her new role, Kavita will report to Amit Akali, co-founder and chief creative officer at Wondrlab.

    At Wondrlab, she will lead creative integration and content creation on a large set of key accounts.

    Wondrlab co-founder & chief creative officer Amit Akali said: “Being platform-first, we’re a very different kind of a start-up and therefore hire people with unique skill sets. The coming days are full of opportunities and I am sure someone senior and experienced like Kavita will help us make the most of it. At her level, she’s not expected to bring just skillsets to the table but also a mindset. While she’s from an art background, she’s very comfortable handling a huge team.     Kamath has nearly 16 years of experience, a large part of which she gathered at MullenLowe Lintas, where she spent a decade. She is a multiple award-winning creative, having worked on brands like Google Pay and Google Home, the tech brand that gave her platform-first exposure and experience. She has also worked closely on well-received campaigns such as the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour. Apart from these, she has also worked on key brands such as Pepsi, Slice, Tropicana juices, Vivo, Glenlivet, Hindustan Times, Wills Lifestyle, Dabur, GSK and Samsung, among several others.

    MUMBAI: Dhatri Bhatt has been appointed as the vice president, marketing and communications at Nykaa Fashion. Prior to joining Nykaa, Bhatt was associated with LVMH’s House of Christian Dior as the marketing and communications manager.

    Previously, Bhatt was head, communications at H&M. She was also the spokesperson for the brand in India and responsible for leading, planning and organising internal and external communications and press activities in collaboration with the global H&M Communications team.

    Bhatt carries an experience of over 18 years in brand management, media relations, retail strategy, and influencer collaborations and event management.

    A retail specialist with experience in managing international fashion and lifestyle brands across all aspects of the business, she has dealt with in-depth brand launches, PnL management, retail operations, e-commerce, buying and merchandising, marketing, communications and PR among others.

    Sonali Malaviya appointed as managing director Essence India

    MUMBAI: Essence, a global data and measurement-driven media agency which is part of GroupM on Thursday announced the appointment of Sonali Malaviya as the agency’s managing director for India.

    Malviya will be responsible for leading continued client-centric innovation in data, analytics and technology, as well as business growth and company culture for the agency in the market. Based out of Delhi, she will report to Essence APAC CEO, T. Gangadhar and GroupM South Asia CEO, Prasanth Kumar. She will join Essence’s APAC leadership team and GroupM India’s executive committee as part of her role. Meanwhile, Anand Chakravarthy, previously managing director for Essence India, has moved on from the agency to pursue new opportunities.

    Joining Essence in 2018, Malaviya most recently led the agency’s Google business in India and Southeast Asia as senior vice president, client services. Previously, she served as chief operating officer at Colorbar Cosmetics and country marketing lead at Twitter in India. With over 20 years of industry experience, she has also held senior roles at Mindshare, PHD, Roy Morgan Research and MediaCom in India, the United Arab Emirates and Australia.

    New Delhi : Justdial has appointed Prasun Kumar as the chief marketing officer. Kumar was previously associated with Magicbricks, where he was the head of marketing, revenue verticals, content and public relations.

    With an experience of over two decades in the industry, Kumar is a marketing expert who has played key role in building several brands.

    Kumar has worked with different companies including Reliance Communications as senior vice president, Sony Mobile Communications as head of marketing and MTS as director brand.

    He has also worked as head of brand activation at Levi’s Strauss, associate director at Madison Communications and manager at McCann Worldgroup.

    His experience includes launching and turning around businesses, building large revenue verticals and driving innovations in the consumer, technology, and content space.

    Vodafone Idea appoints Reema Jain as chief digital officer

    New Delhi: Vodafone Idea Ltd has appointed Reema Jain as its chief digital officer. She will lead the company’s digital strategies, execution, and adoption.

    Jain will report directly to managing director and chief executive officer Ravinder Takkar.

    She was previously associated with FMCG major Unilever as head of IT where she was responsible for Supply Chain delivering Digital solutions. Jain spent five years at Unilever and has also served the company at the global level as IT Director – Digital Integration and IT Director –Application Management. Before Unilever, she worked as Oracle’s Technology Leader at GE.

    With over two decades of experience in the industry, Jain has expertise in IT Strategy, Technology Delivery, Digital Solutions, Transformation Project Management, Operational Excellence, and Agile Methodologies.

    New Delhi: Social media word-of-mouth marketing platform, Brandie, has appointed Junaid Hakim as national director for India. He will be based in Bengaluru.

    Hakim joins from MediaCom, where he was the general manager and headed the media mandate for Dell till November, 2020. In his new role, he will oversee Brandie’s growth in the Indian market and develop stakeholder engagement, drive sales and new business development.

    Suzuki Motorcycle India appoints Satoshi Uchida as company Head

    New Delhi: Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) appointed Satoshi Uchida as its new company head as part of a global revamp by the parent Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC).

    Uchida has succeeded Koichiro Hirao with effect from 1 May. He carries three decades of experience across various global markets. In his last role, he was assigned to the US and returned to India, where he had worked previously in the company as well as served as deputy executive general manager- Motorcycle Operations (India/Middle-East/Africa) at SMC, Japan in the past.

    In his new role, Uchida will be responsible for exploring new avenues for growth and further strengthen Suzuki Motorcycle India’s position in the Indian market, the company said in a statement.

    “I am delighted to join Suzuki Motorcycle India again after a gap of just two years of my earlier assignment here in India. This company has always been very close to my heart. For us at Suzuki, it offers immense growth opportunities and it will be my endeavour once again to further consolidate our base here in India,” said Uchida, highlighting that India is one of the largest manufacturers of two-wheelers in the world and the company would strengthen its commitment to the Make in India program.

    Bhojani will drive the marketing and communication activities of Rapaport India. He will lead the marketing of a powerful set of new initiatives that will add value for the brand’s Indian clients while continuing to manage the Indian marketing of RapNet, the group’s diamond and jewellery trading network.
