  • BharatPe onboards Parth Joshi as chief marketing officer

    MUMBAI: Financial services company BharatPe on Monday announced the appointment of Parth Joshi as the chief marketing officer. Joshi will work closely with BharatPe’s group president, Suhail Sameer.

    Prior to joining BharatPe, he was the head of Marketing– Global Expansion Markets, Reckitt based out of Singapore. He has also held various marketing roles in GSK & L’Oréal. Parth is an alumnus of MDI, Gurgaon.

    This is the fourth key leadership appointment by BharatPe this year. The company has earlier appointed Gautam Kaushik (PAYBACK’s former MD & CEO) who leads the payments business, Sumeet Singh (Amarchand Mangaldas’ former partner) as general counsel and head of Corporate Strategy and Amit Jain as the chief risk officer.

    “Joshi will bring his in-depth understanding of brands, product development and marketing to fuel BharatPe’s continued growth. In the past, Joshi has played a key role in building many brands across geographies in multi-national companies,” it said on Monday.

    BharatPe co-founder and CEO Ashneer Grover said, “I am confident that Parth’s experience with FMCG giants will be instrumental as we aspire to build BharatPe as a preferred financial services and credit partner for tens of millions of merchants. Also, his in-depth understanding of consumer aspirations and behaviour would be key as we build products like BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) for the end customers and scale PAYBACK in India in the times to come.” 

    On his new role Parth said, “BharatPe has seen stupendous growth over the last couple of years. It is phenomenal how India has accepted digital payments and BharatPe has been at the forefront of this transformation. I am looking forward to building BharatPe as the preferred brand for our customers. We also have big plans for the consumer side and I am excited to lead and build this business with the team.”

  • Cashfree appoints Vaibhav Mehrotra as marketing head

    KOLKATA: Payments and API banking solutions company Cashfree has appointed Vaibhav Mehrotra as the marketing head to drive the company’s marketing strategy through its aggressive growth phase.

    He will be responsible for building the brand while instilling industry best practices across brand marketing, product marketing, digital and performance marketing. He will also build a strong marketing team under his leadership.

    With a career spanning over 13 years, he has worked in leadership positions at DLF Ltd, Max Group, Cognizant Interactive, and Photon Interactive. In his most recent role as the head of brand and marketing, Office Business at DLF, he led the marketing charter across six cities, launched various products and brand campaigns covering earned, owned, and paid media. He has also executed various award-winning campaigns for brand awareness and demand generation.

    Cashfree co-founder Reeju Datta said, “We are delighted to welcome Vaibhav onboard as the head of our marketing team at Cashfree.   • Tata Motors elevates Girish Wagh as ED; Guenter Butschek to step down

    Mumbai: Tata Motors has announced changes in its Board of Directors. The automaker has elevated Girish Wagh as executive director, with effect from 1 July. He currently serves as the president of commercial vehicles.

    The company also announced that Guenter Butschek will step down from his role as CEO and MD from 30 June. He would relocate to Germany at the end of the contract for personal reasons. “Butschek will continue as a consultant till the end of this fiscal year,” it said in a statement.

    President- passenger vehicles, Shailesh Chandra, CEO – Jaguar Land Rover, Thierry Bollore, and Wagh will continue to work closely with the chairman, N Chandrasekaran to lead Tata Motors, the company stated.

    Speaking on the latest announcement, Tata Motors’ chairman, N Chandrasekaran said, “I would like to thank Guenter for leading Tata Motors successfully over the last five years and creating a strong foundation for the future. I look forward to his continued inputs as a consultant to the company.”

  • Onnivation names Kaveri Das as VP – strategy, and growth

    New Delhi: Onnivation on Wednesday named Kaveri Das as their vice president of strategy and growth. She previously worked for ZEE5 as corporate strategy lead.

    The company invests in the India business of Israeli deep tech companies and helps them grow in India.

    In her new role, Das will be responsible for strategizing and navigating the company’s roadmap for its next wave of growth.

    Talking about her new profile, Das said, “Onnivation’s vision of building a technology powerhouse through their partners and the value it adds to its customers is very compelling.   • Bharti Airtel announces Amrita Padda as chief people officer

    New Delhi: Telecom giant Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced the appointment of Amrita Padda as its chief people officer, with effect from 1 October. She will report to Bharti Airtel MD and CEO, Gopal Vittal.

    Padda was previously associated with Hindustan Unilever for over two decades, where she handled the entire spectrum of human resources roles. In her new role, she will be responsible for Airtel’s people strategy as the company transforms into a digital services provider, as per an official statement.

    Commenting on the appointment, Gopal Vittal said, “I am delighted to welcome Amrita to Airtel. Our People and culture of empowerment are our biggest strengths that enable us to deliver world-class experiences to our customers.     Mumbai: Dabur India has appointed Rahul Awasthi as executive vice president – manufacturing. Awasthi was head of planning, technology, and innovation at HUL.

    He has 27 years of experience in the FMCG industry in the manufacturing, technology, innovation, and supply planning domain. “With multiple strategic and execution roles across locations, brings in both local and global perspective on the table,” the company said while welcoming its new EVP.

    Dabur India is one of India’s leading FMCG Companies and among the world’s largest Ayurvedic and Natural Health Care companies.

  • Gaurav Dudeja promoted to executive VP and head of Leo Burnett Orchard

    New Delhi: Leo Burnett Orchard on Tuesday promoted Gaurav Dudeja as executive vice president and head of Leo Burnett Orchard and appointed Pravin Sutar as head of creative.

    Both Dudeja and Sutar will now lead the national mandate for Leo Burnett Orchard and will report to South Asia Leo Burnett, chief executive officer and chief strategy officer, Dheeraj Sinha, and South Asia Leo Burnett, chief executive officer, and chief creative officer –Rajdeepak Das.

    “Gaurav has done a spectacular job of driving growth in the Bangalore office. Now the new-age mandate is to grow the agency at a national level.   • Amit Wadhwa promoted to CEO at dentsu Creative India

    New Delhi: On the back of its global organisational redesign, dentsu international on Tuesday created a new structure for its creative service line in India. The restructuring will bring together some of India’s best agencies along with their digital & PR capabilities – all from the house of dentsu – under one umbrella to provide a more collaborative and aligned offering to clients.

    The brands that will come together as part of this redesign as dentsu Creative include Dentsu Webchutney, Taproot Dentsu, WATConsult, Perfect Relations, Isobar, Dentsu One, Dentsu India and Dentsu Impact.

    With the eventual consolidation under the two strong global brands – dentsumcgarrybowen (dentsuMB) and Isobar, dentsu Creative will provide digital-native, brand-led, customer-centric, creative, and strategic solutions to clients, effortlessly, it added.

    In India, the dentsu Creative service line will be led by chief executive officer, Amit Wadhwa, who will be responsible for the integration, coordination, and implementation of the overall strategy for dentsu Creative in the market. He will lead the dentsu India creative service line leadership team, reporting to Anand Bhadkamkar and the regional dentsu Creative leadership.

    “Narayan has been instrumental in driving integration across our units and, as part of the South Asia integration initiatives, he will be supporting the Sri Lanka team in strategy and integration across the two markets. He will now be moving away from his current additional role as chairperson, Creative Service Line for India, and will take up a regional leadership role as APAC lead – strategy & consulting Practice in the creative service line. In this role, he will be working with the Regional and Global leadership teams within the creative service line to help develop the area of Strategy & Consulting Practice in the APAC region,” Anand added.

  • Golin elevates Shouvik Prasanna Mukherjee to CCO, Asia Pacific

    New Delhi: Interpublic Group agency Golin has promoted Shouvik Prasanna Mukherjee chief creative officer, Asia Pacific.

    In this newly created role, he will champion Golin’s data-driven, earned-first creative ideas to inspire and create change for clients across the region, said the agency on Tuesday. Based in Singapore, Mukherjee will report to Asia Pacific, president, Darren Burns. In addition to the new role, Mukherjee will continue to lead the data, analytics, and content team in Singapore.

    According to the agency, he will oversee the firm’s conceptual creators, graphic designers, and content production teams for the region, and he will take an active role in building the data analytics capabilities in Singapore where he previously held the role of executive creative director since 2015.

  • RepIndia appoints Purnima Bali as creative director

    New Delhi: RepIndia on Tuesday appointed Purnima Bali as creative director. She will be tasked with leading the creative endeavour at RepIndia, and further grow the creative business across Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

    Bali was previously working as the associate creative director at Interactive Avenues, Gurugram, where she headed the creative team and led the creative business for brands such as Honda Cars India, Hero Cycles, Havmor Icecreams, DishTV, and Oppo Mobiles.
