    Thinkstr elevates Ravi Raghavendra to NCD

    Mumbai: Thinkstr, a Gurgaon-based independent agency, has elevated Ravi Raghavendra to the position of national creative director. He will shift to Bengaluru to kickstart the agency’s expansion.

    Thinkstr’s founder Satbir Singh said, “Ravi has spearheaded the agency’s creative from day one and it was only a matter of time before he officially ran it. We’ve won some interesting new businesses and created some very popular campaigns where he has been at the core. We tossed a coin between Mumbai and Bengaluru for our next office and Ravi called correctly. Our client base includes traditional biggies as well as new-age startups, which matches the Bengaluru client profile to a T. We invite briefs from brands with national presence or ambitions.”

    Raghavendra commands over 20 years of experience in the advertising and communication business, which includes 14 years as a creative leader across multinational agencies and a startup.

    Speaking on his new role, Raghavendra shared, “We have been thinking of expanding our footprint beyond Gurugram for a while. Bangalore is an exciting market. It’s not only a hotbed of new-age businesses, it’s also the hotbed of new-age thinking and home to many established marketing success stories.” 

    “Speaking for myself, it’s also home for me. So it’s great to be back and assume added responsibilities from the home turf. I’m sure the Bangalore clients, who are as fine as the Bangalore weather, will be nice to us,” he added.

    InMobi appoints Todd Rose as SVP, global business development

    Mumbai: InMobi on Wednesday announced the appointment of Todd Rose as senior vice president of global business development. He will be based out of San Francisco and report to InMobi Group co-founder and CEO, InMobi Marketing Cloud, Abhay Singhal.

    Rose joins InMobi to operationalise and accelerate a cohesive data and identity strategy, as well as expand strategic partnerships for clients to better leverage InMobi’s end-to-end advertising solutions to activate audiences, drive meaningful connections and ignite growth, said the company in a statement.

    “We’re thrilled to welcome Todd to lead our business development team, build on our growth and spearhead the next chapter of global expansion,” said Singhal. “Todd has deep domain expertise and rich relationships across the advertising ecosystem. He will play an integral role in defining and institutionalizing business development for InMobi, further advancing and expanding our strategy to address the market opportunities ahead.”  

    Previously, Rose worked for InMarket as chief business development officer. He also spearheaded agency holding company partnerships and led sales of GeoLink, InMarket’s real-time activation platform. Rose joined InMarket via the acquisition of NinthDecimal, a leading location intelligence platform, where he served in a similar capacity as part of the management team for eight years. He managed all platform and publisher partnerships and helped transition NinthDecimal from a Wi-Fi advertising network to a leader in mobile location intelligence.

    Earlier in his career, Rose led business development for YP / AT&T Interactive and had stints in management consulting with both McKinsey & Company and Marakon Associates.

    Mumbai: Ants Digital, a Gurugram-based tech-led marketing agency, has appointed Sai Krishna as branch head for the southern region. Krishna will be based out of Hyderabad and overlook the operations for all the key markets in the South, said the agency.

    Krishna comes with over 15 years of experience in the field of marketing, creative and advertising and has worked extensively across the corporate, social, and government sectors. He joins Ants after working at E&Y where he was responsible for strategic business consulting. In the past, he was associated with Ogilvy, where he worked on crafting key communication for the state of Andhra Pradesh through creative, digital, and electronic media.

    A post-graduate from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Krishna has also worked for the Government of Andhra Pradesh scaling up the communication initiatives to give a fillip to the medical technology sector in the state.

    Truecaller appoints Jijendran Ravindran as VP, global business development

    Mumbai: Caller ID app Truecaller has announced the appointment of Jijendran Ravindran as vice president (VP) of global business development. 

    In his new role at Truecaller, Ravindran will be working towards expanding business and growth across markets and report to the chief commercial officer, Kari Krishnamurthy.
    Ravindran joins Truecaller from Xiaomi, where he was associate director and the lead for MIUI India. He was responsible for managing and driving the overall business strategy for the brand. Prior to Xiaomi, he was heading app partnership for Micromax in India, Sri Lanka, Russia & Bangladesh. He has also been associated with Airtel and Vodafone in the past.

    “I am excited to have JJ on board. And I am confident that he will push our ambitions of having Truecaller in every connected device globally,” said Krishnamurthy welcoming Ravindran. “His extensive experience and accomplishments in his recent past stints will definitely take our efforts to another level.”

    Yong Goon Park will be based in Gurugram at Mobis India head office where he will be leading the AS business operations for the Indian market.     MUMBAI: WPP’s media investment group, GroupM on Tuesday announced that it has expanded Arshan Saha’s role to CEO of Xaxis & specialty businesses, APAC. Saha’s previous title was CEO of Xaxis APAC and in his new role, will lead GroupM’s data-driven specialty businesses including Xaxis (programmatic), INCA (influencer marketing), finecast (addressable TV), sightline (addressable out-of-home), and acceleration (data & tech consultancy practice).

    The consolidation of leadership for all data-driven specialty businesses for APAC, will ensure GroupM’s continued future-ready innovation and growth. Saha brings his experience in growing and scaling Xaxis across the region to further strengthen GroupM’s data and technology suite of products, said the company in a press statement.

    Soumak Banik returns to MediaCom as Indonesia MD

    Mumbai: WPP’s MediaCom has brought on board Soumak Banik as managing director for Indonesia, who returns after having served as chief growth officer at the firm for India & South Asia region until July this year. He will report to GroupM Indonesia CEO Himanshu Shekhar and MediaCom Asia Pacific CEO, Mark Heap.

    Banik succeeds Partha Kabi who recently took charge as global account director at MediaCom for SK-II and is now based in Singapore.

    On this succession move, media reports quoted Himanshu Shekhar as saying, “Kabi’s successor has big shoes to fill, and I am hugely excited to have Banik as the new leader for MediaCom Indonesia. His infectious enthusiasm and positivity will be crucial in building on the strong foundations.”

    Banik commands over 20 years of experience in conceptualisation, supporting communication, deriving & driving effective efficient marketing solutions across industries like FMCG, CSG, auto, luxury, telecom, e-commerce, BFSI, sports, publishing, and multiple brands. Prior to MediaCom, he was associated with Mindshare Indonesia as principal partner for three years until 2019.

    Mumbai: E-learning platform BeyondSkool has announced Nimit Jaiswal as its chief growth officer. In his new role, Jaiswal is responsible for the company’s growth and brand strategy.

    An IIM Bangalore alumnus, Jaiswal comes with seven years of experience having worked with companies like Xanadu, Lodha Group, and ZS Associates in the past. Before joining BeyondSkool, he was working with Helppo as a founding member and the head of product and marketing.

    Royal Enfield CEO Vinod Dasari moves on, B Govindarajan new ED

    Mumbai: Eicher Motors has announced that Royal Enfield chief executive officer Vinod K Dasari has stepped down from the company. Dasari has also resigned as executive director of the board of Eicher Motors. The resignation will come into effect from 13 August. Dasari will be succeeded by B Govindarajan, who has been the chief operating officer of Royal Enfield since 2013.

    Dasari’s decision to move on is to dedicate time and energy to pursue his passion and ambition in affordable healthcare. He recently set up and inaugurated a not-for-profit hospital in Chennai. “It has been a very memorable ride over the last two years and more at Royal Enfield. I have decided to move on, so I can dedicatedly follow a personal passion that has been close to me for many years now,” said Dasari.

    Prior to joining Royal Enfield in April 2019, Dasari was the CEO and managing director of Ashok Leyland, a position he held since 2011. He had joined Ashok Leyland as CEO in 2005.

    “Vinod has made significant contributions to the organisation,” said Eicher Motors MD, Siddhartha Lal. “Right from his unwavering focus on customer-facing digital properties, to driving network expansion, to building several new services and solutions-oriented initiatives, he has helped the company take giant steps forward. He also very ably led the company through tough and unprecedented times over the last year and a half.”

    B Govindarajan, who has spent more than 23 years across Royal Enfield and Eicher Motors, will be inducted as a whole time director on the board of Eicher Motors and will take charge as executive director of Royal Enfield from 18 August, the company said.

    “Govind brings on board an astute understanding of the industry, with strong technical know-how, combined with a sharp strategic outlook and operational excellence,” Siddhartha Lal stated. “He has led several turnkey projects for Royal Enfield and has been instrumental in growing and expanding our manufacturing facilities, in bringing a paradigm shift in our product quality, delivery and development process, and in setting up our two state-of-the-art technology centres in India and the UK.”
