    CredAvenue onboards Karanpreet Bindra as CMO

    Mumbai: Debt markets platform CredAvenue has brought on board former Rupeek executive Karanpreet Bindra as its chief marketing officer. He will be based out of Bangalore and report directly to Gaurav Kumar.

    In his current role, Bindra will oversee the entire gamut of digital, product and brand marketing at CredAvenue for both the enterprise and the B2C businesses.

    He will also be responsible to look after the company’s global brand strategy, digital marketing strategy and innovation, product marketing strategy, and incubation of a consumer business. As CMO, Bindra will define a digital-first path for all marketing efforts at CredAvenue, said the statement.

    “Bindra has a clear vision for the future of marketing and innovation and can build a strategic team to execute the vision at CredAvenue,” said Kumar. “He is an all-rounder veteran who also has an entrepreneurial bent and we do foresee that the team and the brand will flourish under his guidance.”

    Prior to joining CredAvenue, Bindra worked at Rupeek as head of marketing. He was also associated with Marico for close to seven years and was a group ex-pat based out of Dubai. He also had stints with Akzonobel, and Future Brands.

    As a growth specialist for over 15 years, Bindra has experience working with multiple seasoned brands ranging from FMCG, fintech, personal care, and paints across a wide geography in India and the Middle East.
     
    “This is an interesting juncture for the overall fintech space and CredAvenue in specific. The addressable market size, a global mandate, a profitable business model, the CEO’s vision, and the quality of talent within the leadership team is a great combination,” said Bindra on his new role.

    Ants Digital appoints Ratnadeep Sharma as executive producer

    Mumbai: Tech led marketing agency Ants Digital has appointed Ratnadeep Sharma (RD) as executive producer. He will be based out of the agency’s head office in Gurgaon and will oversee all video productions and operations.

    RD joins Ants Digital after working for several agencies, production houses, media publishing houses and television channels. He comes with over 10 years of experience in advertising and has produced over 2000 TVCs, television series, web commercials, AVs, viral content for over 80 leading national international clients.

    “We have been consistently scaling our presence in the digital space, and with his appointment, we will reinforce our operations in digital film production, 2D animation and motion graphics,” said Ants Digital CEO Sanjay Arora. “RD has a good understanding of video production and has vast experience in live shoots and animation, which will add immense value to our clients.     RD has also been the youngest member of the jury panel at many prestigious Indian and international film festivals. One of his campaigns for the online promotion of “Bahubali 2” won the DigiPub award for best brand partnership. He has worked with well-known industry brands such as JW Marriott, Dupont, BASF (Nunhems), Hewlett Packard, Coca Cola, Dominos, KFC, Accor group of hotels, adidas, among many others.

    Zomato co-founder Gaurav Gupta moves on

    Mumbai: Gaurav Gupta, one of the key executives of food tech platform Zomato has moved on from the company.

    Gupta, who joined Zomato in 2015, was head of supply at the food delivery company. In 2018, he was elevated to the position of chief operating officer and later designated as co-founder in 2019. He had played a crucial role in the company’s landmark initial public offering (IPO).

    “I am taking a new turn in my life and will be starting a new chapter, taking a lot from this defining chapter of my life — the last 6 years at Zomato,” Gupta told executives at Zomato in an email, as per the company’s blog.

    His departure comes just days after Zomato exited its grocery delivery and nutraceutical business. The company had ventured into the nutraceutical business last year with the launch of health and fitness products.

    Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal confirmed Gupta’s exit on Twitter. “Thank you Gaurav Gupta—the last six years have been amazing and we have come very far. There’s so much of our journey still ahead of us, and I am thankful that we have a great team and leadership to carry us forward,” he wrote.

    Mumbai: Jones Lang LaSalle Inc (JLL) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Siddharth Taparia to the global role of chief marketing officer (CMO), effective immediately. He will be responsible for the company’s global marketing strategy and will oversee all marketing activities worldwide, it said.

    “As the real estate industry evolves in response to macro trends including rising capital allocations, sustainability, technology transformation and increasing commercial real estate outsourcing, Siddharth’s proven success as an innovator and strategic marketer will be instrumental in positioning JLL’s full capabilities to the market,” said JLL CEO Christian Ulbrich. “Siddharth’s background in leading commercially driven marketing teams in large, globally matrixed organisations will enable him to bring together our marketing talent across the globe to focus on our purpose of shaping the future of real estate for a better world.”

    Prior to JLL, Taparia was associated with software company SAP as senior VP and global head of corporate brand and experience marketing. Previously, he has held several leadership positions across marketing, strategy, consulting, product management, and mergers and acquisitions.

    Taparia is an accomplished author and advisor on data privacy, cloud computing and value-driven marketing. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya in Bhopal before moving to the US to earn his master’s degree from Texas A&M University.

    He is a member of the CMO Club and sits on the board of the CMO Council. He was named in 2018 as one of the 40 Under 40 by DMN, an organisation focused on digital and data-driven marketing.

    Havas Media Mumbai reports growth of 150 per cent in 2020-21

    Mumbai: Following the strategic restructuring of Havas Media Group India’s senior management a few months ago, the agency’s Mumbai office has reported a growth of 150 per cent in 2020-21, on the back of over 15 new account wins.

    This includes ACC Cement, Ambuja Cement, ICICI Securities, De Beers Forevermark, Wai Wai, GITAM University, Dr Reddy’s, OZiva, and several others. In addition, the agency has seen tremendous growth on the back of marquee clients like Tata Motors and TVS Eurogrip and their increased media spends even in 2020. In total, Havas Media Mumbai has added a total billing of over Rs 500 crore in 2020-21, the agency shared.

    In the last fifteen months, Havas Media bolstered its senior leadership team in Mumbai. Uday Mohan took over as president & head – North & West India, which includes the Mumbai operations. In addition, Manish Sharma was elevated as executive vice president and head of the Mumbai operations. To further strengthen the strategy teams, Sanchita Roy was named Havas Media Group India strategy head.

    “Despite the market challenges, in the last 15 months we stuck to our task, defined our vision and kept investing in both our talent and product,” said Havas Group India Group CEO Rana Barua. “In 2020, Havas Media Group India has garnered a growth rate of 35 per cent (RECMA June 2020) – the highest among all media agency networks in India.”

    Mohan brings with her rich experience of over two decades across media & entertainment, tech and advertising.     ProfitWheel brings in Aman Khanna as co-founder

    Mumbai: The SaaS startup ProfitWheel has launched its US operations and has brought in Aman Khanna as co-founder. He joins the company after a seven-year stint and will work closely with ProfitWheel co-founder Vivek Bhargava.

    Khanna has been involved in the company’s US operations since its inception and hitherto existence in stealth mode. He has spent his career in digital advertising in corporate America. 

    Previously, he has worked at iProspect, Boston, before moving to Yahoo! into a management role. He continued with his leadership positions at firms such as Adelphic Mobile and Visual IQ, before joining Nielsen.

    “Aman is the perfect partner to lead the US operations with his rich product and market experience,” said Bhargava. “Under his leadership, we are looking at growing our sales, customer success and product teams in the Americas as well as globally.”
