    Prime Focus to form virtual reality and advertising JV in India

    MUMBAI: Prime Focus Limited (Prime Focus) has informed the bourses that its board of directors at its meeting held on April 27, 2016, inter-alia, considered and approved the following:

    Divestment of 30 per cent stake in Digital Domain-Reliance, LLC (DD-Reliance),  to the existing holder of the remaining 70  per cent stake in DD-Reliance, which is ultimately wholly-owned by Digital Domain Holdings Limited (DDHL), whose shares are listed on the main board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited .

    Entering into a proposed 50:50 JV with DDHL to carry on Virtual Reality and Advertising businesses in India on terms as may be agreed between the parties

    At a total consideration of US$ 55million worth of shares in the Hong Kong listed DDHL based on an issue price of HK$0.596 per share of which US$30 million is for stake sale.

    Major re-structuring at Helios Media; Raj Shrivastav elevated to national head

    MUMBAI: Helios Media has announced a major change in its restructuring. The speciality revenue monetisation company for content owners has elevated Raj Shrivastav as the national head for Living Foodz and Brand Chef business.

    Rahul Jaiswal will lead the northern and western regions for MTunes, EPIC and Fakt Marathi while Avnish Bhagat will be leading the southern and eastern regions for MTunes, EPIC and Fakt Marathi. 

    The company had recently elevated Shrutish Maharaj to chief sales officer.

    Talking about the restructuring, Maharaj says “It’s been quite a journey for us as a team loaded with some amazing experiences and most satisfying accomplishments. However for a young company like us, it’s important to keep redefining ourselves to stay focused and grow faster. The restructuring of our sales team is with an eye on enhanced efficiency and focused approach”

    Helios Media has also acquired mandates for a couple of television channels in the recent past and is on a fast track to growth.

    “The core team of Helios has been with the company since its inception and has grown along with the organisation. Banerjee’s mandate at Event Capital involves expanding the current bouquet of Live intellectual properties owned by Event Capital and introduce focussed live and digital content creations.

    Based out of Mumbai he will oversee development of new verticals in lifestyle, music and sports. Deepak Choudhary, the co-founder of Event Capital, will now focus on acquisitions, collaborations and investments as Director of Event Capital.

    Fareed Jawad is VP and principal product architect at Freecharge

    New Delhi: Fareed Jawad has been appointed the principal product architect and vice president (VP) payments at digital payments platform Freecharge. In his new role, Fareed’s mandate will be to build payments technologies at Freecharge. Additionally, he will lead the efforts on building technologies for solving the unique payments problems in India.

    Freecharge is on a mission to build the world-class payments ecosystem for merchants and customers. The company seeks to work collaboratively with various innovators and emerging FinTech players to implement the most reliable and frictionless payment method and Fareed will be instrumental in driving this with the senior leadership team at Freecharge.

    Prior to his appointment at Freecharge, Fareed most recently served as principal product architect at Amazon India, where he was responsible for building the core payment processing infrastructure for the organization. Before joining Amazon, Fareed was with Flipkart as director for Product Management and was part of the core team that launched PayZippy.

    “Fareed’s appointment reaffirms Freecharge’s commitment to hiring the industry’s best talent.     Fareed has been in the payments industry right from the earliest payment gateways with VeriFone in the US. He has also been part of large payment processors like Moneris Solutions in Canada and eFunds/FIS where he helped enhance the acceptance and issuance platforms for Chip Card processing.
