    Ad tech company Vertoz appoints Sanjay Dubey

    MUMBAI: Vertoz, an ad tech company, has announced the appointment of Sanjay Dubey as its senior sales director India. Besides his role of sales and blending business, Dubey will help the company in managing and scaling operations internationally and help develop the brand and product with global technology to Indian operations.

    Among the key areas where Dubey would be actively involved is setting up of the MSME segment business in India.

    “We are proud to have someone on board of Sanjay’s caliber, expertise and perspective joining us. His pan India experience, deep knowledge over building and launching of products, and the unique blend of technological and management skills will strengthen our services and offerings and help to fill void in the Indian market,” said Vertoz founder and CEO Ashish Shah.

    Dubey joins Vertoz from Vubites – Rediff.com where he was director of sales. Prior to Rediff, he was with Network 18 where he held the role of deputy general manager. In the past, he has also worked with Infomedia India as its national product manager. He is an alumnus of the IIM Calcutta and a B.Sc. graduate from the University of Mumbai.

    Vertoz, which has global presence and clients spread across the world, believes that Dubey’s over 20 years of experience in multi-platform brand marketing and business development would further accelerate the growth and momentum of the company.

    MUMBAI: Leo Burnett Group’s specialized digital agency Indigo Consulting has appointed Devang Raiyani as its national head of strategy. Raiyani will report to Leo Burnett South Asia chief strategy officer Dheeraj Sinha.

    In his new role, Raiyani will be responsible for working with the management team to carve out a differentiated offering in an increasingly crowded digital space, and leverage digital not just as a media channel, but also as a tool to solve business problems. He will work closely with Navin Kansal, National Creative Director, Indigo Consulting.

    MUMBAI: CBFC has refused to ‘chill’ as per the wishes of the ad agency that conceived the Bond ad for a pan product. The Pierce Brosnan aka James Bond ad for the mouth freshener Pan Bahar has been banned from national and satellite television by the Central Board of Film Certification.

    Brosnan, as reported by indiantelevision.com, shocked everyone when social media got flooded with trolls and jokes around an advertisement flashing his picture holding a box of Pan Bahar instead of a gun!  The man who once defined style using his charm had now taken to Pan Bahar to look cool. Twitter, needless to say, had a field day, Indian Express reported.

    All tobacco, paan masala, alcohol ads are automatically and unconditionally banned, CBFC head Pahlaj Nihalani said. Even the liquor ads showing big stars like Saif Ali Khan and Shah Rukh, which play surrogate to sell alcohol products are illegal.

    When India woke up to a white haired Brosnan, peering intensely out from a full page ad on The Times of India, holding a jar of Pan Bahar, the nation did a double take. Soon enough, Twitter and Facebook was flooded with a wide range of mostly polarized reactions — from mildly amused to some outright offended.

    MUMBAI: Be proud to be Indian, every day. Bajaj Auto has released a new brand film for V – the bike that contains the metal of the legendary warship INS Vikrant. The film raises an important question about why national pride is restricted to select occasions of national significance such as the Independence Day or Republic Day, and forgotten the next morning. Also, the new film features the fresh navy blue color of Bajaj V recently introduced through the new campaign.

    The film aims to inspire people to cherish India’s rich and glorious history and feel a sense of pride every single day of the year. In what is probably the first time ever in Indian advertising, the story is narrated from the point of view of a real life war hero. Rear Admiral S. K. Gupta, a Mahavir Chakra awardee who served aboard the INS Vikrant in the 1971 war, features in the film and talks about how the Bajaj V now allows us to experience our pride every day.

    Bajaj V, launched on the Republic Day earlier this year, created quite a stir in the market, with its first campaign – clearly establishing their distinct positioning of being made of pride.

    Bajaj Auto motorcycles marketing VP Sumeet Narang said, “With the V, we are not just selling motorcycles but celebrating the pride of the nation. Consumers are also playing back this feeling of pride. The new campaign takes the proposition forward and talks about how the V helps you experience pride every day, and not just on select occasions of national significance.”

    Leo Burnett CCO Rajdeepak Das said, “This is the harsh reality of our country. While we all see ourselves as proud Indians, we are quite happy just expressing them in occasions. Like beating a key rival in cricket, winning the World Cup, medals at Olympic games, and the two national days.” The film has been directed by Prakash Varma of Nirvana Films.
