The objective of this campaign, developed by WWO, is to increase user engagement for BIG Cinemas, utilizing all mediums of digital marketing and reaching out to the target audience in bulk, as their customers are all online. Along with helping them with designing their website, WWO will also manage and strategies the media planning and buying, social media management, developing mobile applications and the marketing campaigns for their digital audiences.

    In the new role, Pandey will continue to spearhead the team in maintaining Radio Mirchi’s leadership position in the country.

     

    An engineering graduate in Electronics & Communications and IIM Bangalore graduate, Pandey has been associated with the company since August 2000.     MUMBAI: On the eve of 26 May, while the nation was glued to TV sets as India’s 15th prime minister, Narendra Modi took the oath, people from every corner of the world witnessed this glorious event over television sets, radio and internet.

     

    However that wasn’t the only historic thing of that evening, the event had grandeur response on mobile as well. Over a million callers dialed in to listen live streaming of oath taking ceremony right on their mobile phone.

     

    As the ceremony was held late in the evening of working day, that was a time when millions of Indians were busy working at office, caught up in their daily commute, stranded in traffic jams, etc. which meant missing the live telecast of the ceremony. If given an opportunity to enjoy the live telecast right from wherever they are, none would give a miss to the event.

     

    Bringing this thought to reality, VivaConnect, an innovative mobile marketing company partnered with BJP to broadcast the ceremony live over a phone call. They published a phone number 022 4501 4501 as a means to connect. The service connected over a million callers with the event. The response was massive considering that event lasted only for an hour.

     

    This was the first time ever that a prime ministerial oath taking ceremony was made available live over a phone call. Considering the enormous population of the country that has 529 million mobile users in urban parts and over 364 million mobile users in rural regions, the service established an easy connect for everyone right from the urbanites of metropolis to the people living in media dark regions.

    MUMBAI: Last year somewhere at this time Twitter, the popular microblogging site went ahead to strike a partnership deal with the holding company WPP. The association was initiated between two to build more efficient campaigns. In this partnership, Twitter data was integrated into WPP’s media and analytics products.

     

    Taking a step ahead, Twitter has now partnered with Omnicom Group. According to a report in Reuters, Omnicom Group’s media services division has signed a deal worth $230 million with Twitter that will integrate Omnicom’s automated ad buying unit Accuen with Twitter’s mobile ad exchange MoPub.

     

    Various other international reports also state that the two-year deal will lock in ad rates and inventory access for Omnicom agencies and will also give Omnicom a ‘first look’ at new ad units and opportunities being developed by the microblogging site.

     

    It will be interesting to see how the social networking site with the help of holding companies will sell out interesting ad inventories in the coming days.

    ASCI refreshes its management team

    MUMBAI: The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), the self-regulatory organisation of advertising content and protecting the interest of consumers in India has announced the retirement of ASCI secretary general Alan Collaco, effective 30 May. Shweta Purandare has been named as the successor. She will start her new role from 1 June. The council has also announced the appointment of Ashutosh Geedh as its chief administrative officer.

     

    Purandare has over 22 years of industry experience and was earlier associated with some of the eminent companies such as Cipla, Merind, P&G and L’Oreal. She has been actively associated with ASCI as the chief operations officer since the past one year. In her new role, she will continue to handle consumer complaints process. In addition, Purandare will be leading marketing, public relations and social media initiatives for ASCI.

     

    Ashutosh Geedh who will be joining as chief administrative officer will take charge from 5 May. He has done his MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila. His experience spans over 19 years in companies such as Patni Computers, LIC, Securex Capital Advisors and Towering Heights Telecommunications. In his new role, Geedh will broadly be responsible for administration, finance and accounts, HR, legal, I.T. and internal and external Communication. He will report to the secretary general.

     

    ASCI chairman Partha Rakshit said, “Alan will be greatly missed by ASCI members for his tremendous commitment to excellence. While we are indebted to him for his exemplary service to ASCI’s mission, we are also confident that his successor, Shweta, will demonstrate strong leadership skills and analytical insights, further supporting the association’s vision and mission.”

     

    “Also, the appointment of Ashutosh will further strengthen the association’s operations, thereby ensuring seamless functioning across various departments and external bodies,” added Rakshit.

    MUMBAI: Sweden-based SCA’s hygiene brand, Tempo has initiated an on ground activity in Mumbai. This campaign is basically rolled out to spread awareness on cleaning hands and using a sanitizer.

     

    The brand has collaborated with Mumbai’s Dabbawalas at the hands of celebrity Karishma Kapoor to spread the message of hand hygiene to 1,00,000 smart foodies to follow a healthy way of eating by using a sanitizer before eating and a tissue after eating food.

     

    Commenting on the campaign imitation, SCA MD Cecilia Edebo said, “Promoting good hygiene in sync with the local Indian eating habits, SCA aimed at bringing a smart way to enjoy food anytime and anywhere to the Kerala market. psLIVE has been an integral part in helping us achieve the same. We look forward to engaging them in our endeavor to spread our products and message on pan-India basis.”

It can be observed that the brand also collaborated with fast food chain McDonalds extensively when it was just launched in the market.
