    MUMBAI: B4U Television Network has announced a media partnership for Filmonix’s show ‘The Comedy Show With Kapil Sharma & Family’ this summer in the UK.

    Kapil Sharma will be presenting his first live concert in the UK — The Comedy Show with Kapil Sharma & Family on The SSE Wembley Arena on Saturday 20 August 2016.

    The live show will feature all of his popular comedy performances alongside a new production just for the UK. He will be entertaining audiences with a complete show consisting of comedy, music and romance, presented in his unique style. Kapil Sharma will be accompanied by Ali Asgar, ChandanPrabhakar, SumonaChakravarti, Kiku Sharda and Sunil Grover.

    MUMBAI: Effective July 7, Ogilvy & Mather has made the following changes in the Mumbai Office Management Structure:

    • All Ogilvy Mumbai’s businesses and account management resources will be brought together under 5 clusters, each headed by an Executive Vice President & Cluster Head.

    • The five new EVPs & Cluster Heads are: Abhik Santara, Ajay Menon, Hitesh Patel, Prakash Nair and VR Rajesh.

    • These EVPs & Cluster Heads will form the core business leadership team for Ogilvy Mumbai. They will work with Kunal Jeswani, who is both CEO of Ogilvy India as well as the Head of Office for Ogilvy Mumbai, to drive Ogilvy’s flagship Mumbai office.

    Motivator to tap Rs 100 crore business through Chennai operations

    MUMBAI: GroupM agency Motivator has extended its services in the Southern market by launching its operations in Chennai. The expansion into the Chennai market is expected to add business of over Rs 100 crores for Motivator and is an integral part of the growth plans for the agency. Christopher Paul will lead the new Chennai team and will report to Zahid Shaikh, who was recently appointed as the Head of Operations – Motivator South.

    Chennai is the fifth city in Motivator’s network in India in addition to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Thrissur. With the aim of solving business and marketing challenges, the agency further plans to set up a Data, Science and Tech lab in the city that will focus on building frameworks for data applications.

    Speaking on the announcement, Motivator MD Rabe Iyer said, “As part of our expansion plans, we are looking at diversifying our client portfolio in the Southern market. The launch of our Chennai operations is a significant step in that regard. Besides, we look at Chennai as our Data & Tech lab destination given our existing partnerships and engagement with highly evolved start ups there. While Bangalore will be the central hub for Insights and Product development, Chennai will host the labs for Data Science and emerging technology.”

    The Chennai operations will service Motivator’s existing client base in the city, including brands like Yamaha and FundsIndia.     NEW DELHI: Noting that there were outstanding dues of approximately Rs 6.40 crore for 2013-14 and Rs 17.76 crore for the year 2014-15 in respect of various Doordarshan Kendras, a Parliamentary Committee has asked the Information and Broadcasting ministry and Prasar Bharati that the process of recovery of dues should be expedited.

    The Parliamentary Standing Committee for Information Technology which goes into issues relating to I and B also noted that the final figures of outstanding amount due for the year 2015-16 were still being worked out and, as such, there could be some outstanding dues for that year also.

    At the outset, the Committee said the issue of outstanding dues of the Doordarshan Kendras has been lingering for quite some time and there was a huge pendency of outstanding dues. However, the ministry said there was no outstanding amount in respect of All India Radio stations.

    Arbitrators had passed fifteen awards in favour of Prasar Bharati and approximately Rs 53.71 crore had been recovered by taking recourse to provisions of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 (including all amendments till 2015) by filing its claims against such defaulting advertising agencies for the recovery of outstanding dues.

    The Committee was told Prasar Bharati is making efforts to recover the outstanding dues by continuously pursuing the defaulters to make payment and request reminders are sent, and in case of delay, Doordarshan charges interest @ 14.5 % from the defaulting agencies. Bank Guarantees of the defaulting agencies are encashed as per terms and conditions of the agreement.
