India’s culture and technology are Its Hallmark: Bhairavi Jani on ‘UMUTE with PRCAI’

Mumbai: Serving as executive director of SCA Logistics Pvt. Ltd., Bhairavi Jani has been adeptly navigating the evolving landscape of logistics and supply chain operations. The fourth-generation entrepreneur and passionate philanthropist is playing a pivotal role in streamlining the complex global network to facilitate a seamless flow of commerce.

Ever enthusiastic about development, Jani recently joined Niret Alva, an award-winning television journalist, producer, anchor, and educator, in the fourth episode of ‘UMUTE with PRCAI. During this enlightening session, she spoke about the evolving global narrative about India, the ongoing digital metamorphosis and importance of the lifelong learning. She also shared insights into her professional journey and her passion to co-create sustainable livelihoods for communities in the upper Himalayas.

Addressing the question posed by the host on the hallmark of India’s changing brand image, Jani responded, “I think our culture is our strongest positioning of course, but so is technology.” Drawing reference from mentions of India in Western movies and series, she said that India has become a part of “mainstream conversation where people in general conversations have started recognising the country.” She even credited prime minister Narendra Modi for advocating the brand India, resulting in the country’s enhanced global image.

Continuing the discussion on strategies to bolster India’s global brand image, Jani asserted that, “Every brand has its core philosophy and values. For India, it has always been its diversity and pluralism. A lot of people equate India to that. If India were to lose that core identity, it would significantly damage its brand.”

Advocating for digitalisation in logistics and other streams of businesses, Jani said learning, experimenting, and preparing a roadmap for the organisation is essential for managing the transition. Commenting on the speculation of job losses due to the advent of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and advanced technologies, Jani stated, “There is a transition. Some people will lose their jobs, but many new, higher-skilled jobs will be created. We shouldn’t be apprehensive about it.”

She even spoke about the importance of lifelong learning in the current era and shared some key skills required for an Indian entrepreneur across sectors. To hear the full episode tune into: Bhairavi Jani: The Future of India is Bright

Urban Indians in the west and north were happier than those in the South and East. 87 per cent of urban Indians living in the west zone were happy and similarly, 77 per cent of those living in the north zone claimed to be happy. Only 54 per cent of those living in the South Zone were seen to be happy. And only one in two (50 per cent) in the east per cent one were happy. The trend was seen across demographics.

Overall, happiness has surged for family (+1 per cent), situation of the world (+3 per cent), situation of the country (+2 per cent), and neighbours (+1  per cent); and decreased for health (-2 per cent), economic/ financial conditions (-1 per cent), colleagues/ business associates (-2 per cent), employment or work (-1 per cent) and with no change around friends’ circle, in September, over the previous month.

It is about close family ties, social framework and societal engagement, work environment and colleagues, financial conditions, how the country is being run and how the global scenario looks. The G20 Summit has rubbed off on the perception of India and the world and is being positively manifested in the happiness monitor in September. Likewise, work and colleagues and increasing work pressures have slightly dented happiness levels. Women and homemakers seem happier with their “me” time.”

“West and North zones have seen a maximum boom in terms of jobs, access to the best of facilities and overall development. Tier one towns are the emerging centres of consumerism. Seeing a major boost in quality of life and happiness,” added Chakraborty.

    Methodology

Ipsos IndiaBus is a monthly pan-India omnibus (which also runs multiple client surveys), that uses a structured questionnaire and is conducted by Ipsos India on diverse topics among 2200+ respondents from SEC A, B and C households, covering adults of both genders from all four zones in the country. The survey is conducted in metros, Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, providing a more robust and representative view of urban Indians. The respondents were polled face-to-face and online. We have a city-level quota for each demographic segment that ensures the waves are identical and no additional sampling error. The data is weighted by demographics and city-class population to arrive at the national average. Data collection is done every month and the results are calculated on a two-month rolling sample.

The culture of installing a Murthi of Lord Ganesha is a tradition and has been going on for years. The murthi are normally made of Clay or Plaster of Paris and also painted with commercial paints to give them a real-life look and charm. The problem is the materials and the finishing products going towards the preparation of the murthi are toxic and also not good for nature, as they may have a harmful effect on soil and water bodies. To keep the environmental impact of the Ganesh festival to a minimum, people have started having clay and soluble Ganesh Murthi with manure and plant-able seeds. Once immersed in the pot, the Ganesh idol grows into a plant, with the seeds available in the murthi. Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils – The Green Ganesha initiative serves as a testament to their conscious endeavour to mitigate environmental harm without compromising on the festivities.

Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils senior vice president, sales & marketing P Chandra Shekhara Reddy said, “It is a part of our tradition to celebrate the Ganesh festival by placing the Murthi of Lord Ganesha in our homes. InMobi forges global partnership with Ad Net Zero to further its commitment to sustainable advertising practices

Mumbai : InMobi, a leading provider of content, monetization and marketing technologies that help businesses fuel growth, today announced its strategic partnership with Ad Net Zero, the climate action program with the mission to accelerate the decarbonization of the advertising industry. This collaboration underscores InMobi’s resolute commitment to sustainability, aligning with Ad Net Zero’s mission to revolutionize the advertising landscape through decarbonization initiatives spanning ad production, distribution, and publication.

The global advertising industry is at a critical juncture, as it grapples with the environmental impact of its operations. Recent statistics underscore the urgency of the issue, with the internet’s greenhouse gas emissions comprising approximately four per cent of the global total – surpassing even the aviation sector. Notably, the energy required to serve one million ad impressions is equivalent to the carbon produced by manufacturing 2.4 million plastic straws.

Recognizing the growing importance of sustainability in business decisions, InMobi has taken a proactive step by aligning itself with Ad Net Zero. As a leader in the ad tech industry, InMobi recognizes the significance of demonstrating sustainability efforts to both its existing clients and potential partners. A recent Deloitte survey highlights that 98 per cent of consumers believe brands are responsible for contributing to a better world, and a considerable portion of consumers prefer to be patrons of sustainable brands.

By joining forces with Ad Net Zero, InMobi embarks on a journey to align with the organization’s five-step plan, designed to minimize the carbon footprint of advertising:

    1.       Reduce emissions from advertising business operations

    2.       Decrease emissions stemming from advertising production

    3.       Diminish emissions from media planning and buying

    4.       Lessen advertising emissions from awards and events

    5.       Harness advertising’s potential to drive behavioral change

InMobi’s dedication to sustainability extends beyond rhetoric to measurable action. InMobi Exchange, powered by Microsoft Azure which boasts of complete carbon neutrality, stands as a testament to its commitment. Furthermore, data gleaned from the Microsoft Azure Impact Emissions Dashboard showcases InMobi’s impressive emission reduction metrics:

    ·   InMobi’s emission factor ranks within the top fifth percentile compared to average server emission factors

    ·   Server usage demonstrates a remarkable 80-90 per cent higher green efficiency compared to alternative on-premise solutions, even high-efficiency ones

    · Direct SDK integrations, paired with machine learning, have driven emission reductions of up to 30 per cent

“InMobi’s partnership with Ad Net Zero symbolizes our dedication to ushering in a more sustainable era for the advertising industry,” states InMobi chief business officer Kunal Nagpal. “We are proud to stand alongside fellow tech companies and agencies, united in the pursuit of a greener, more responsible future. By fully embracing Ad Net Zero’s comprehensive plan, we are steadfast in our commitment to minimizing our environmental impact while advancing the power of advertising.”

“Ad Net Zero is thrilled to work with InMobi as they support more sustainable advertising solutions, contributing to our collective global impact. InMobi’s commitment is another significant step toward an eco-friendly future for the industry,” says Ad Net Zero U.S. director John Osborn.

InMobi’s partnership with Ad Net Zero follows its global sustainability commitment to Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), where InMobi is undergoing a 24-month goal validation process, at the end of which InMobi will commit to ambitious Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reduction targets in line with SBTi sector guidelines and the GHG Protocol standards.

“Our partnership with Ad Net Zero strengthens and accelerates InMobi’s commitment to creating a more sustainable advertising ecosystem,” said InMobi managing director Asia Pacific Rishi Bedi. “By embracing Ad Net Zero’s comprehensive five-step plan, InMobi will be able to further reduce carbon emissions, minimizing our environmental impact while advancing the power of advertising across the globe.”

InMobi also continues its partnership for the second year with Givsly, the leading purpose driven B2B marketing solution, and shared the stage with Givsly, Dentsu, and IPG Brands at Cannes Lions 2023 to discuss the challenges, opportunities, and the path that can be taken for a sustainable ad tech stack.

Recently, InMobi served as the primary audience partner in AdTechCares’ campaign with Project Drawdown, a nonprofit organization working to reduce greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere. AdTechCares is a 501 (c)(3) organization that leverages ad tech to combat misinformation and keep humanity well, and InMobi is a founding member.

ONDC and Proxtera to unlock cross-border B2B prospects

Mumbai:  Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), an initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, forays into international B2B exports with Proxtera coming in as its first international Buyer App.

Proxtera is the operationalisation of the Business Sans Borders (BsB) initiative led by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). Proxtera is an innovative meta-hub that will connect B2B platforms and SMEs to explore trade opportunities, secure essential financing, and embrace digital transformation through the ONDC Network.

With the ONDC Network enabling B2B exports, Indian businesses will benefit from increased product visibility and digital access to digital markets. Businesses can eventually expect a seamless experience of being discovered, negotiating the best deal, exchanging relevant documents, completing cross-border payments and managing shipments, all facilitated within a fully digital framework.

In addition, SignCatch and Rapidor, with Bech.app and placeorder.com respectively, will be among the first seller network participants to join ONDC for international B2B trade, facilitating the reach of Indian products to global markets. Liquid Group, a fintech company within Proxtera’s financial services network, specializing in digital payments, joins as a cross-border payments provider for B2B buyers in Singapore.

This landmark collaboration cements a clear vision of the future of financial technology, ultimately establishing a globally recognised framework and democratizing access to global trade.

The ONDC – Proxtera collaboration was showcased during the fourth G20 global partnership for financial inclusion (GPFI) as part of the Global SME Finance Forum, held in Mumbai, India.

ONDC MD and CEO T Koshy said, “The demonstration today is a step towards enabling digital market access across borders for Indian businesses and SMEs. Proxtera, as the first international buyer app from Singapore, and the roles of SignCatch and Rapidor on the seller side in bridging the gaps between businesses through cross-border trade, are thus highly instrumental in this journey.”

SignCatch founder & CEO Sumit Duggal further stated, “As the first B2B Seller Platform for International Trade, SignCatch is closely working with ONDC and Proxtera to create a seamless digital highway connecting Bharat’s MSMEs to Global markets by leveraging Secure & Transparent Protocols. Our marquee export Seller platform Bech.app has been built to address the digital transaction needs of global commerce and the coming together of ONDC, Proxtera and SignCatch is a game-changer that would provide a huge impetus to foreign trade.

Proxtera CEO Saurav Bhattacharyya added, “As the first international B2B buyer app on ONDC, Proxtera is proud to enable new opportunities for SMEs to engage in cross-border trade.  This collaboration is a pioneering step towards democratizing access to international trade for SMEs in India, Singapore and across the globe.  With cutting-edge digital technology from Proxtera, buyers are able to effortlessly discover products and engage in real-time conversations with sellers across different buyer and seller platforms. Together with ONDC, we are simplifying global commerce, breaking down barriers, and unlocking a world of opportunities for B2B SMEs worldwide.”
