    ScoopWhoop launches in-flight feed

MUMBAI: ScoopWhoop has announced the launch of its in-flight feed to give access to exclusive tailor-made content while flying above 16000 feet. The content publisher is the first to unlock this innovation, and is aiming to disrupt the industry, to re-look the way audience consumes content on-board.

While in-flight services are a common practice, ScoopWhoop’s latest addition to its app unlocks the feed, allowing users to read content while flying without internet connectivity. The feature which is currently in its beta version, appears as a push notification only when one is on airplane mode and flying above 16000 feet (cruising altitude). The feature will dissolve once there is a descend in the altitude.

The in-flight feed has been conceptualised by Dentsu Webchutney.

ScoopWhoop Media co-founder and chief product officer Debarshi Banerjee says, “This is the first time that a content publisher has forayed into distributing content basis behavioural patterns for airborne consumers. ScoopWhoop’s aim has always been to become a customer product and continue to revamp the strategy to innovate with the changing environment. We are hoping that the new update will help us build a further close connect with our audience.”

Dentsu Webchutney chief creative technologist Gurbaksh Singh adds, “Flying in India is mostly a boring experience due to unavailability of in-flight entertainment services. We are delighted to collaborate with ScoopWhoop to develop an innovative feature that will change the way audience consumes content. It was fun building the feature; we have deployed over 500 hours in air while testing the feasibility of the feature.”

Britannia Marie Gold encourages homemakers to win a scooty

MUMBAI: Britannia Marie Gold has launched its new campaign #GoPlaces, wherein homemakers get the opportunity to win a brand new Scooty. Britannia Marie Gold has been the flagbearer for empowering and enriching the lives of everyday women and this initiative is aimed at fuelling the lives of homemakers by equipping them with the means to be independent.

The campaign kick-starts with a TVC and two digital films that are based on the insight that every homemaker has the drive to be more but often lacks the resources and opportunities. The TVC and the digital films beautifully capture everyday instances, wherein the homemaker makes the choice to become more, ensuring that her personal interests do not take a back seat as she goes about her usual responsibilities. While the TVC highlights the homemaker doing more for her child without any additional support, the digital films capture homemakers introspecting on their personal aspirations. All stories end on a high note as the #GoPlaces initiative provides them with the opportunity to realise their dreams, liberating them from self-doubt and dependence.

Britannia Industries vice president marketing Ali Harris Shere says, “Britannia Marie Gold believes that homemakers are everyday athletes in the journey to be more. They need the fuel that keeps them going both physically and emotionally. Marie Gold is that fuel. With the #GoPlaces campaign we are providing these athletes with the means to be independent so that it can help in fulfilling their aspirations.”

Lowe Lintas executive director Rajesh Ramaswamy adds, “Through the years of Marie Gold advertising, we have always tried to show the Marie woman as someone who runs the household, but also feels like more than just a homemaker. She balances her family’s needs and her own in an already packed day. But there was an opportunity to see her outside the context of a home. We wanted to show how much more she can accomplish when a bike comes into her life and makes her truly independent. That was a very exciting and fresh space for us to explore.”

McDonald’s shows that you’re never too old for toys

MUMBAI: McDonald’s Happy Meal was best known for the toy that came with the pack. Now, the brand is allowing any meal to be made into a Happy Meal by adding a toy for just Rs 35.

Inspired by the hundreds of entries McDonald’s received for the biggest Happy Meal fan search, the campaign focuses on kids of all ages — a unique search for the biggest Happy Meal Toy collectors in India!

Conceptualised by Leo Burnett, the digital campaign brings to the fore the heart-warming story of Sunil Chawla, a 35-year-old man, based in Bangalore. Sunil has, over the years, collected over a whopping 300 Happy Meal toys! The film shows Sunil speaking fondly about how his obsession with the Happy Meal toys began. He describes his possessiveness and how over the years he’s made sure to travel far and wide just to complete his toy collection.

McDonald’s India senior vice president of strategy, innovation and capability Seema Arora Nambiar says, “Since the launch of the iconic Happy Meals in India in 1997, it has grown in popularity. The toys that our customers have collected bring back the happy memories created over food. We wanted to celebrate the emotional connect that our customers have with the brand through their Happy Meal toys, which is why we have featured a real life Happy Meal toy collector and his story in this ad film!”

Leo Burnett South Asia chief creative officer Rajdeepak Das adds, “There is a child in all of us, and we keep indulging this child with its favourite treats however old we may be. McDonald’s has just made it easier for everyone to embrace this child. We don’t stop liking toys, for instance, just because we grow up, do we? The joy of collecting toys knows no age. This simple idea got us to the story of Sunil, and we knew it was a story that our consumers would instantly resonate with.”

The new campaign employs digital and social media as touch points.

  • Adidas rolls out 3D billboard for Predator

Adidas rolls out 3D billboard for Predator

MUMBAI: Out of home (OOH) agency Posterscope India, from Dentsu Aegis Network, has rolled out a massive OOH campaign to announce the launch of Adidas Predator.

The core objective of the campaign is to build awareness about the launch of this flagship product from the house of Adidas. The one-month-long campaign is aimed at reaching out to people who are enthusiastic about football — both players and fans – across various age groups.

Posterscope has created a campaign using a specially designed 3D face of the brand ambassador Paul Pogba to build impact and efficiency. The plain image was converted into a digital 3D model. While the creative was converted into a 3D file and was used for print production, detailing and painting of the final piece was done by hand.

The innovation showcased 9ft long 3D face of Paul Pogba that protruded 4.5ft on a 20X10 billboard. The innovation helped the brand to stand out and ensure long distance visibility. It is pertinent to note here that this is for the first time in India that a massive 3D face has been placed on a unipole in the OOH space.

Adidas senior manager of omni channel marketing brand communication Sharad Singla says, “As a brand we wanted to make a bold statement, that was also in line with our product relaunch. We identified a powerful execution for outdoor which had an element of innovation, it brought to life the predatory instincts through the Pogba 3D execution on few sites.”

Based on the agency’s deep understanding on the requirement of the brief and with the help of their primary research (OCS), patented analytical tools (OOHZONE) and accumulated understanding, Posterscope zeroed down on a specific location in Delhi for the innovation. Innovation was done on Inner Ring Road at RK Puram towards Dhaula Kuan. The location of the unipole was specifically chosen so that it covers the high volume traffic on Ring Road and is a solitary unit at the required stretch of the road.

This resulted in the flawless execution of the campaign and all timelines were maintained without any compromise in quality. The innovation led to creating extensive and significant buzz around the product. This in-turn has led to the desired exposure of the brand launch in the Indian market.

Posterscope used large media formats like billboard, bridge panel, unipole to create impact for this multi city campaign.

Posterscope senior business director Aditya Goel adds, “This was a brief where we had to think beyond the work that we had already executed for Adidas in the past. The creative, servicing and operation teams at Posterscope came together to execute a larger-than-life size 3D model. It is something which has not been tried so far in the country in the OOH space.”
