    MUMBAI: the YouTube FanFest , an exclusive live show and festival bringing together established and emerging YouTube stars from India and around the world with fans, is all set to take centre-stage on 18 March in Mumbai.

    YouTube and Branded Ltd said the event, at Dome@NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai, is being held in India for the third time. 

    Over 5,000 fans will get face-to-face with some of YouTube’s biggest stars, local internet sensations, and up-and-coming talent performing live on stage.

    This year’s show features a dynamic mix of music, comedy, dance, fashion and much more, all together on one stage and adorning the red carpet pre-show. The stellar line-up for the YouTube FanFest Mumbai encore features over 35 widely popular YouTubers from around the world, including Lilly Singh aka IISuperwomanII, Connor Franta, All India Bakchod, SANAM, Kanan Gill & Biswa Kalyan Rath, East India Comedy, Bryden-Parth Music, Abish Mathew, Kaushal, Kenneth Sebastian, Kurt Hugo Schneider, and many more.

    YouTube Asia-Pacific director of content and operations Gautam Anand said: “Over the last few years, we have seen Indian YouTube creators capture the imagination of youth and win fans around the world. We are delighted to host YouTube FanFest again in India to celebrate this new generation of YouTube stars and welcome some of our most popular global YouTube stars back to India.”

    Times Internet acquires digital video rights of ICC Events for US & Canada

    MUMBAI: Times Internet owned Cricbuzz.com has become the exclusive licensee for digital video clip rights for United States and Canada for all ICC events for a period of four years. 

    The digital rights for all events scheduled to take place between 2016 and 2019, including the ICC World Twenty20 which begins in March in India will vest with Cricbuzz.com. 

    The four-year deal includes seven ICC events starting with the ICC World Twenty20 2016.

    The deal gives Times Internet exclusive rights to deliver a comprehensive video package that includes video clips of pre-match, in-match and post-match coverage.

    In the first agreement of this nature, the ICC is providing in-match video clips to digital licensees and Times Internet will have exclusive access to six minutes’ video clips from every hour of match coverage starting with the first ball and ending with the winning moment.

    As the exclusive video clips licensee for these two North American markets, Times Internet will also get access to key moments from all matches in the ICC archive.

    Times Internet Limited’s newly acquired digital clips rights in the United States and Canada will supplement Cricbuzz.com’s existing live coverage in the form of text, scorecard and infographics across its digital platforms.

    “North America has traditionally been our largest audience base outside of India and we are thrilled to be able to offer an enhanced experience of the ICC events to cricket fans across that region with near-live in-match clips. We are excited to partner with the ICC to grow the sport in the region through our coverage of the premier competitions in the sport of cricket,” said Times Internet CEO Satyan Gajwani.

    The other events included in the package are ICC Champions Trophy 2017, ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018, ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018, ICC Women’s World Twenty20 2018 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

    MUMBAI: In a bid to capitalise on the booming digital space, Percept Pictures has released its first short film titled (aids + b) ? on YouTube.

    Moreover, with a vision to empower the youth to tell their stories, Percept is looking to launch at least 25 new directors in the next five years regardless of the medium.

    The digital content created by Percept Pictures will be divided into three categories: 1) India, 2) Travel and 3) Socially Relevant content.

    The company will be experimenting with various formats like music videos, web-series, short films etc. Plans are also to create full length films for the digital space. Additionally, Percept is also planning to give young and aspiring filmmakers a chance to explore and create their own content.

    (aids+b)2 is a black comedy, which has been directed by Venky AV. The film has been promoted through social media networks. The film is about a 10 year old school boy whose life turns upside down on learning about the existence of a disease called AIDS. The primary intention of the film is to encourage open and right conversation on AIDS and not treat it as taboo. Though the idea is a serious one- to bust the myths around AIDS, the film is not. It is a light-hearted film while addressing a very grave issue and maintaining complete cinematic aesthetics.

    Percept Pictures chief operating officer Danny Mamik said, “The most important vision at Percept Pictures is to give the youth a platform to express themselves. Any young aspirational story teller whether from Mumbai or anywhere in this country should feel compelled to come to us to say their story and we will do our very best to give that story every opportunity to be heard and seen. We are very excited with this new pathway and hope that this charts a whole new territory in film making.”

    nexGTV strengthens VOD portfolio with #fame integration

    MUMBAI: Subscription-driven, video-entertainment app – nexGTV, has enhanced its portfolio of exclusive, premium, digital content by integrating the digital entertainment network #fame on its platform.

    The initiative marks the first time that entertainment app, which comprises 150+ Live TV channels, a slew of movies, TV Shows and Videos on Demand content, has integrated content from another pure-play ‘digital’ entertainment network into its portfolio.

    As part of the agreement, #fame will create and ‘premiere’ content exclusively on nexGTV prior to publishing it on alternate channels. The arrangement also covers its Karan Johar-hosted series Lakme School of Style. In addition to premiere content, nexGTV viewers will also get access to #fame’s existing repository of original digital content from its other channels and properties including #fame comedy, fashion, music, food, websinger etc.
