    Mumbai: Crunchyroll is thrilled to announce the early launch of Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubs of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc.’ Indian fans will be able to enjoy these new dubs starting 9 June 2024. The release in India underscores Crunchyroll’s commitment to providing an exceptional anime experience by offering localized content for its diverse global audience.

    Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc premiered on 12 May 2024, on Crunchyroll, with new episodes simulcasting on the platform every week.

    Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge published under Shueisha’s jump comics, which consists of 23 volumes and over 150 million copies in publication. The animation production is by ufotable.

    The story begins when Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is killed by a demon, joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human after she is transformed into a demon. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba first premiered in April 2019 with the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, followed by the feature film Mugen Train in October 2020,  and the TV series Mugen Train Arc and Entertainment District Arc from 2021 through 2022. In 2023, the Swordsmith Village Arc debuted on Crunchyroll, shortly after the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village- World Tour theatrical release.

    This update introduces the martial tiger, a new physical-type unit from the beast faction. Martial tiger is a close-range area damage dealer with two special abilities called taeguk and roar of the lion. With taeguk, the critical damage increases, and upon reaching a certain level, it unleashes the Roar of the Lion, terrifying all monsters in the player’s lane for 1.5 seconds with a mighty roar, and resetting the accumulated critical damage. Martial Tiger can be acquired through the Martial Tiger Event, Featured Summon, and Step Up Pack. Players can try out the new unit through the Derby Brawl – Martial Tiger Mirror Match, available from 1 to 3 June, and earn Beast Crystals based on their ranking.

    Hammer sprite

    In June, players will encounter a new unit along with the A Powerful Blow season. Coming 13 June, players can anticipate the arrival of the Hammer Sprite, a new physical-type unit from the spirit faction. The Hammer Sprite possesses a special ability called Gold Appears, which boosts the attack power and attack speed of herself and the hero at the start of each wave. She is particularly effective at clearing waves quickly, making it recommended to place her near the front of the castle. The Derby Brawl – Hammer Sprite Mirror Match, featuring this new unit, will be available from 15 to 17 June.

    Special events – gems, crystals, and valentine’s fun

    1 Duo play event: Available until 27 June, this is an event where players complete missions by playing the two-player cooperative mode, duo mode. Depending on the completed missions, players can earn various rewards such as the mirage of the desert, harun palace castle skin, duo entries, gems, elixir, and featured summon tickets.

    2 Returning guardian missions: This event is designed for players who log into the game after a long absence, allowing them to complete missions to earn eternal hearts, which can be exchanged for rewards like miraculous summon tickets, legendary unit selections, and gold.

    Mumbai: JioCinema, the official streaming platform for the TATA IPL, brought down curtains on yet another successful season with a record reach of 2,600 Crore views during the 2024 season of TATA IPL, a 53 per cent growth compared to TATA IPL 2023. As JioCinema concluded their second season, the platform recorded over 35,000 Crore minutes of watch-time.

    Keeping the momentum going after an incredible opening night, JioCinema’s reach grew by over 38 per cent, concluding the season at over 62 Crores. The Connected TV audience expanded substantially as the 12 language feeds, 4K viewing, multi-cam views, and stadium like experience through AR/VR and 360-degree viewing led to average time spent touching 75 minutes from over 60 minutes last season.

    JioCinema opened the 2024 season with over 11.3 Crore viewers logged in on Day 1, a 51 per cent increase compared to Day 1 of TATA IPL 2023. As JioCinema commenced their second season on digital, over 59 Crore video views were registered on the platform for the opening day of TATA IPL 2024 which led to 660 Crore minutes of watch-time.

    “We conclude the TATA IPL 2024 with a promise to continue to redefine the way sports is consumed in India,” said a Viacom18 Spokesperson. “The growth we are seeing year-on-year assures us that our viewer-centric presentation is engaged with and appreciated.     From clothing and fashion accessories to essential products like prescription glasses, people always rely on physically trying out items before committing to a purchase. This tactile experience provided reassurance and confidence in the product’s fit, feel, and overall suitability. AR can bring this experience to online shopping, bridging the gap between the online and offline shopping experiences.

    Case in point

    Indian eyewear retail chain Lenskart allows users to use their phone’s camera to test out how the glasses they choose will look on them. This experience has also been extended to products like furniture and home decoration.

    Ever bought furniture online and worried if that new chaise lounge would swallow your living room whole? IKEA Place uses AR to let you see exactly how their furniture would look in your space.  Just point your phone’s camera at the spot where you want to put the furniture, and voila!  Suddenly a virtual version of that bookshelf or dining table appears.  

    According to Shopify, using AR can increase conversion rates by up to 94 per cent.

     .  Machine learning and AI

    Given how prevalent AI and machine learning already is in all facets of life, it’s somewhat hard to imagine how things will change in the future.

    Let’s look at how AI is used now.

    AI powered chatbots are already allowing online retailers to communicate with customers for trivial queries, many of which can be successfully resolved without ever having to pass on to human customer sales representatives. Moreover, machine learning algorithms analyze customer data to provide personalized recommendations, enhancing the shopping experience by showcasing products that align closely with individual preferences. Fraud detection systems leverage AI to identify and mitigate suspicious activities in real time, ensuring secure transactions.

    How do I forecast the future with AI and ML?

    As AI continues to evolve, we can anticipate even more advanced applications such as predictive analytics for supply chain optimization, voice-activated shopping assistants that understand and anticipate customer needs, and immersive virtual shopping environments powered by AI-driven augmented reality. These innovations promise to make e-commerce more efficient, personalized, and secure, fundamentally reshaping how we shop online.

      . Self-driving vehicles

    While the previous examples mainly talked about improving the user experience, emerging technologies are also poised to revolutionize the backend operations of e-commerce. Self-driving autonomous vehicles can revolutionize the logistics and delivery landscape. Equipped with advanced sensors, AI-driven navigation systems, and machine learning algorithms, self-driving delivery trucks and drones can optimize routes, avoid traffic congestion, and operate around the clock without human intervention. Self-driving vehicles can also contribute to sustainability efforts by reducing fuel consumption and emissions through more efficient driving patterns.

    Current state of self-driving vehicles

    While fully autonomous vehicles are still not there yet, there has been some substantial development in the past few years, with companies like Waymo, Cruise, Aurora, and AutoX are already experimenting and making strides with Level 3 automation. Level 3 implies that some driver intervention is or might still be required while driving. We are still quite a way away from Level 5, or full driving automation, but experts have predicted that these kinds of autonomous vehicles might be ready for consumers by the end of this decade.

     .  High speed connectivity

    5G and high-speed internet connectivity

    As is the case with all forms of technology, telecommunication technology has also made some major strides over the years. These advancements have transitioned us from basic landline systems to the high-speed, wireless communications we now enjoy, enabling global connectivity. 5G technology is the latest leap, allowing even faster mobile data speeds than ever before.

    What does this mean for the e-commerce world though?

    Not only does 5G allow websites to load faster, thus reducing the downtime for users and allowing seamless transactions. Enhanced speeds and better connectivity also enable the usage of some of the technologies we discussed before, including AR technology and autonomous vehicles.  

    Future of connectivity

    At the moment, 5G is steadily being deployed across the world, and is expected to reach the overwhelming majority of people by the end of this decade. Work on 6G development for even faster connectivity is also already underway, although that is still quite a while away. As 5G networks become more widespread, they will enable more robust mobile commerce, ensuring stable and fast connections even during peak usage times, thus increasing conversion rates and customer satisfaction. Overall, the integration of 5G technology over time will significantly transform e-commerce, making online shopping more efficient, engaging, and accessible.
