    MUMBAI: Director Danish Aslam will join the revered list of speakers at the upcoming Indiantelevision.com’s Vidnet Masterclasses, being hosted at The Westin, Mumbai, on 4 October. Aslam, who has worked in Bollywood and for web both, will be distinguishing between the two forms of media for the audience.

    Vidnet Masterclasses are an Indiantelevision.com initiative to facilitate the creative process of young and aspiring creators willing to work in the digital domain. The Masterclasses will host directors & editors, and writers who will be talking to the audience directly about the craft of video creation.

    Aslam had started his career as an assistant director on feature films & TV commercials, eventually ending up at with Yash Raj Films, where he was the First AD on movies like Salaam Namaste, Fanaa & Ta Ra Rum Pum. His first directorial venture was Break Ke Baad, starring Imran Khan & Deepika Padukone.

    He has directed web series like season 2 of It’s Not That Simple, season 1 of Timeout, and Flesh. Apart from that, he has also directed TV shows like Siyaasat (Epic) & Kabhi Aise Geet Gaya Karo (Disney).

    MUMBAI: The man behind the editing of web series like Kota Factory and Humorously Yours, Gourav Gopal Jha will be interacting with aspiring video editors at the Indiantelevision.com’s Vidnet Masterclasses, being hosted at The Westin, Mumbai, on 4 October.

    The Vidnet Masterclasses are being conducted by Indiantelevision.com as an extension to its online video and content summit, with the aim to facilitate the creativity of young and aspiring content creators who are willing to leave a mark in the digital world. The Masterclasses will host directors & editors, and writers, who will be talking to the audience directly about the craft of video creation.

    Jha has had earlier experience of working for TV shows before shifting to digital. He worked as a freelance producer on shows like Emotional Atyachaar. He joined TVF in 2016 and has edited many of their properties including Bisht Please, Yeh Meri Family, and Weekends.

    Subbu is a celebrated director in the digital world and has created series like Kota Factory (2019), TVF Pitchers (2015) and Truth or Dare with Dad (2016). A collaborator with TVF since 2013, he has also directed several comedy sketches and mini-series. His next web series ‘Hostel Daze’ is slated to release late this year.

    MUMBAI: Gullak director Amrit Raj Gupta will be interacting with aspiring writers and directors at Indiantelevision.com’s Vidnet Masterclasses at The Westin, Mumbai on 4 October, sharing interesting anecdotes from his time at The Viral Fever (TVF) and the process of writing and directing web series.

    Gupta, who started his journey with TVF a few years back, was the assistant director for India’s first web series Permanent Roommates. He is also one of the youngest Directors to get a theatrical release for his award-winning short film Ayan in PVR Directors Rare category, at the age of 23.

    Till date Gupta has directed three web series which include Bachelors Season 1 and 2 and most recently Gullak, a successful family drama for TVF.  He has also directed more than 20 videos ranging from PSA’s, Sketch Comedy, Music Videos, etc. for brands like Head and Shoulders, Hero Honda, Mi Phone, MAMI Film Festival, ROPOSO, Gillette, Loud shout, Kailash Satyarthi Organisation, PharmEasy, etc. The total number of views on his web shows and videos are easily more than 100 million.

    Amal (2007) became a recipient of over 30 international awards, was nominated for 6 Genie Awards, including Best Picture, Director, and Adapted Screenplay, and was named one of the top ten Canadian films of the decade by Playback Magazine.

    He then wrote and directed several films and programs including I’ll Follow You Down, Siddharth, India in a Day, and Delhi Crime that revolved around the Delhi Police’s investigation of the infamous gang-rape of a young medical student on a bus in 2012.

    Chernobyl is a gripping mini-series that has gained global popularity for chronicling the events around one of the worst man-made catastrophes, the 1986 nuclear accident in Chernobyl, Ukraine.

    This miniseries is a nod to many blockbuster movies which dealt with similar situations. Though Chernobyl isn’t a movie, every episode is a movie like episode. The amount of genuine emotions you will feel for all victims is unbelievable.
    Writer Craig Mazin was obsessed with the idea of creating a realistic atmosphere and wanted to show the real world during that time. Most of the scenes were shot in Lithuania. The Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, which was closed 10 years ago, is almost 100% equal to the plant, which was in Chernobyl. The crew managed to find an area near Vilnius that resembles the neighbourhood in Pripyat. Some scenes were shot in the Ukraine. The creators worked together with local experts to be extremely accurate. The Kiev city centre was closed during the shooting. It was important to not let any modern details like cars or ordinary people appear in the scenes.
    Musical accompaniment is one of the reasons people believe what is happening on the screen. To create unique music, composer Hildur Gudnadottir went to the abandoned Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant. There, she recorded unique noises and sounds that can be heard in different parts of the plant.
