  • Bharti Teletech wins top telecom manufacturer award

    MUMBAI: Bharti Teletech has been awarded the coveted Voice and Data 100 Award for the top telecom manufacturer of the year 2004.
     
     
    Bharti Teletech, which manufactures India’s largest selling telephone brand Beetel, was given the award in recognition for being the leading telephone equipment manufacturing company in the year 2003-04. The award was presented by the minister of state for communications & information technology Shakeel Ahmad to Bharti Teletech vice-chairman and managing director Rakesh Bharti Mittal.
     
     
    Receiving the award, Mittal said, “Bharti Teletech has always endeavored to provide world-class feature rich telephones at extremely competitive prices. It is this endeavor, which has enabled us to occupy this enviable position of being the Leading Telephone Equipment Manufacturer of the country. Today, Bharti Teletech is synonymous with world-class technologically advanced feature-rich phones.”
     
     

    The awards, which are seen as the hallmark of the Indian Telecom and IT industry, are decided after intensive in-house research and analysis undertaken by Voice & Data – a leading IT and Telecommunications magazine of India.

    The award is in recognition of the wide portfolio of world-class telephones, which the company offers to its customers across different segments.

  • Bharti Teletech introduces new cordless telephones

    MUMBAI: Bharti Teletech today introduced the country’s first 2.4 GHz band cordless phone range in the organised sector in India. The range includes three models each of the Beetel and the GE brands.

    Bharti Teletech has a strategic alliance with Atlinks (a Thomson subsidiary), to manufacture fixed line phones for global exports and exclusively market and distribute the GE range of fixed line phones in India.
     
     

    The launch of the 2.4 GHz cordless phones is in keeping with the company’s strategy to further consolidate its leadership position in the cordless phone segment. The company plans to sell one million 2.4GHz cordless phones in the next two years.

    Bharti Teletech is the first company to introduce the 2.4 GHz range of cordless phones shortly after the DoT de-licensing the indoor use of low power equipment in the frequency band of 2.4 GHz to 2.4835 GHz to boost wireless access technologies.

    The 2.4 GHz band cordless phones offer multifarious benefits to customers including superior voice clarity and upto three times better range in comparison to the existing CT-0 range of phones. These phones will be marketed across more than 8,200 sales and distribution outlets of the company and will be available in various price bands ranging from Rs 1995 to Rs 4995.
     
     
    Bharti Teletech also announced the rollout of the first consignment of GE phones manufactured at its Ludhiana factory, meant for exports. This is as per the agreement between Bharti and Atlinks. Besides rolling out the
    first GE phone manufactured in India, Bharti Teletech has also recently introduced six models of the GE brand of corded and cordless phones ranging from Rs 495 to Rs 2595.
     
     
    Launching the range of phones, Bharti Teletech vice chairman and managing director Rakesh Bharti Mittal said, “It gives me great pleasure to introduce yet another first from the stable of Bharti Teletech. We have always been at the forefront of offering cutting edge products to our customers and the introduction of this range of technologically advanced 2.4 GHz frequency band phones will further enhance the overall product experience. We would also like to take this opportunity to compliment the government on delicensing the indoor use of low power equipment in this frequency band, thereby enabling manufacturers like us to leverage this in providing best-in-class products to our customers.”

    The company also announced that it would further strengthen its distribution network to 245 distributors and 10,000 retailers by the end of this fiscal. In all, Bharti Teletech is targeting a sale of five million fixed line telephone sets by the end of this current fiscal.

    The company has consolidated its dominant leadership position in all the three segments of the domestic telephone market – the operator market comprising purchases by BSNL and MTNL, the open retail market and the private service provider’s market.

  • Bharti Teletech wins voice & data ‘Top Fixed Phones Company Award 2006’

    New Delhi, July 21, 2006: Bharti Teletech, India’s largest manufacturer of fixed line phones, has been awarded the “Top Fixed Line Phones Company Award” for 2006 by Voice & Data. The company, which manufactures India’s largest selling telephone brand Beetel, was given the award for maintaining its apex position in the fixed phones segment in the year 2005-06. The award was presented to Mr. Pawan Kapur, CEO, Bharti Teletech and is a reaffirmation of Beetel’s market leadership in the Fixed Line Phone segment, in the country.

    The Voice & Data Annual awards, being presented for the seventh consecutive year, are seen as the hallmark of the Indian Telecom & IT Industry. The awards are decided after extensive in-house research and analysis by Voice & Data. The research findings are published in the annual V&D 100 survey conducted by the publication.

    Bharti Teletech has consolidated its dominant leadership position in all three segments of the domestic telephone market – the operator market comprising of purchases by BSNL and MTNL, the open retail market and the private service provider’s market. The company closed the financial year 2005-06 with sales of 6.2 million telephones that translates into a market share of 54%.
