  • ATN launches SET, ATN-ARY & CNB in Canada

    MUMBAI: After launching NDTV 24×7 in Canada recently, the Asian Television Network International Limited (ATN) has launched three more channels on Canada’s digital satellite service provider Bell ExpressVu.

    Sony Entertainment Television Asia (Set Asia), ATN-ARY, CBN (Commonwealth Broadcasting Network) were launched in Canada on 21 December.

    On ATN, Sony will feature world television premiers of some of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters and will also bring properties like Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, Indian Idol, Fame Gurukul, CID, Femina Miss India and the Film Fare Awards.

    ATN/ARY Digital will bring Urdu language family television entertainment from Pakistan to viewers in Canada, including popular sitcoms, serials and highly interactive lifestyle and music programs, talk shows and religious programs.

    CBN, on the other hand, will have World Class Cricket and Caribbean programming. Cricket includes both live and rebroadcast of matches from Australia, England, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa and New Zealand.

    ATN operates 12 channels in Canada and is a publicly listed company, has programming alliances with leading international broadcasters. ATN is also the largest promoter and distributor of World Class Cricket across Canada.

  • ATN to launch three Zee channels in Canada

    MUMBAI: The Asian Television Network International Limited will soon add Zee Cinema, Zee Gujarati and Zee Music to its currently popular South Asian bouquet of channels across Canada.

    All three channels will be 24 hours a day – seven days a week.

    Zee Cinema, Zee Gujarati and Zee Music will compliment the recent introduction of ATN Alpha ETC Punjabi channel, which exclusively brings the deferred live telecast of Gurbani from the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

    The new channels will be available on an a-la-carte basis and are also attractively packaged with ATN’s current and proposed channels.

    ATN owns and operates six television channels across Canada and has been awarded 16 more digital television licenses by the CRTC.

    ATN has programming alliances with Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, B4U, Alpha ETC Punjabi, Jaya TV, ARY Digital, Aastha TV, NDTV, ATN Bangla and Kairali.

    It is one of Canada’s largest promoters and distributor of world class cricket. The majority of ATN’s cricket is broadcast live on CBN (Commonwealth Broadcasting Network). ATN in collaboration with the Canadian Cable and Satellite industry is planning to offer the most compelling and comprehensive bundle of South Asian Television Programming across Canada.

  • ATN wins Canadian rights for India, Sri Lanka, West Indies triangular

    MUMBAI: After a long gap Saurav’s boys return to the field on 30 July when they take on Sri Lanka and the West Indies in a one day triangular. While the event will air in India on Ten Sports, Asian Television Network International Limited (ATN) has announced that it has secured the rights for Canada.

    The Canadian broadcaster will also show the test matches betwen Sri Lanka and the West Indies from today 13 July 2005. The test matches will be shown on Commonwealth Broadcasting Network (CBN) currently available on Rogers channel 640. CBN will also rebroadcast the games. ATN will soon announce its plans for the telecast of the ODI’s.

    ATN owns and operates six television channels and has been awarded more licenses by Canada’s regulatory body CRTC. ATN has alliances with Indian channels like Zee, B4U, Sony, Alpha Punjabi, Jaya TV, ARY Digital, NDTV, ATN Bangla and Aastha TV. ATN is also expanding its services to the radio market. Canadian Satellite Radio (CSR) and ATN have signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding production for the Mosaic channel. CSR is associated with XM Satellite for coverage across Canada and the US.
