These self-care apps monitor mental and physical health. Where physical health has always received its share of popularity, mental health has recently started to get the importance it deserves. The number of informed discussions about mental health has increased in the recent past. A fundamental shift in how people generally see emotional stability and welfare as a way to prolong happiness is stipulated. Millennials and Generation Z are found out to be more aware of the significance of mental health. On average, Millennials and Generation Z spend more time on self-care apps & websites than those in other age groups. About 50 per cent of user and user views on these applications and websites are in the age group of 18-24 years. Comparatively, 28 per cent of the people who focus on mental health apps are between the ages of 25 and 34. In the previous month, over 4.130 million users used mental health apps and websites. In the last few months, there has been a sharp increase in the use of websites and apps for meditation that track parameters such as breathing & stress. However, according to the research, age is inversely proportional to the time spent on self-care apps. As people grow older, the amount of time they spend on self-care apps decreases considerably.

Each month, about 300 million people use applications and websites for monitoring physical health. 73 per cent of users of websites and applications for physical health are between the ages of 18 and 34. Out of this, 37 per cent of users are in the age group of 18 and 24 and 36 per cent of the users are in the age group of 25-34.

Applications that assist in monitoring blood pressure, calories, heart rate, and overall physical fitness have seen a rise. Over the past few years, tracking apps for mensuration and intermittent fasting have become popular. Other than this, Apps that remind users about their hydration, track sleep and apps that teach physical activities such as yoga or MMA help them keep up their physical strength and wellbeing have also witnessed an increase in the uptake. There is an app for just about every type of self-care you could imagine.
