GlobeCast broadcasts from the Cannes Film Festival

MUMBAI: Content management and delivery company GlobeCast will be present at the Cannes Film Festival from 14-25 May 2008. The France Telecom subsidiary will be providing production and transmission services via satellite and fibre.

Globecast is working with CNN, Sky Italia, RFO, Telecinco, TV3 Barcelona, and Canal +. These are some of the broadcasters that have signed on with Globecast for support of their coverage.

Throughout the festival, GlobeCast will offer stand up and live positions, playout and satellite and fibre contribution on a global scale. An SNG vehicle near the artists’ entrance of the Palais des Festivals will allow a prime spot for leading broadcasters to deliver live or taped footage.

The company says that The Cannes Film Festival is one of the media world’s most anticipated events of the year. Last year, 321 television channels and 1,700 media outlets from 82 countries covered the festival. Globecast is present for the length of the event – from the opening until the closing ceremony – in order to provide made-to-measure solutions for broadcasters from five continents.
