NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has lauded filmmakers for making films on bold themes and contemporary issues perplexing Indian society.
Speaking after releasing the music of the Hindi feature film Teree Sang slated for commercial release on 7 August, she said that issues like teenage pregnancy and age of consent dealt with in the film could lead to an open debate.
Eminent director Satish Kaushik, who has produced and directed the film, said he had attempted to offer solutions to these issues through his film.
Noting that most of the film had been shot in Delhi, he noted that this was something he had done in every film made by him.
The film has been made under the banner of Karol Bagh Film and Entertainment, a company set up by Kaushik with actor Anupam Kher, and entrepreneur Manoj Mittal.
The film’s debutante stars Ruslaan Mumtaaz and Sheena Shahabadi, along with Rajiv Sughani and Dhavan Gada of Pen Music and Member of Parliament Rajiv Shukla, were present on the occasion.
