MUMBAI: Dave Whatmore will succeed John Buchanon as coach of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders.
Several candidates including Wasim Akram were interviewed by the team management but finally decided on Whatmore as its coach.
Whatmore led Sri Lanka to their only World Cup win in 1996.
