MUMBAI: NewsX, which is soon to be transformed to IMN News, has appointed Diptosh Majumdar as its editorial director. He will be based in NewsX‘s Noida office and spearhead the channel’s newsroom operations.
Prior to NewsX, Majumdar was the national affairs editor at CNN-IBN and had been part of the core team that started the channel in 2005. He has also worked with The Telegraph and Indian Express.
IMN News co-promoter Jehangir S Pocha said, “Diptosh‘s experience and passion will greatly further NewsX‘s mission to create India‘s first non-tabloid news channel. Our desire to give viewers, fed up of sensationalist news channels, a qualitatively different news experience is striking a chord with more and more people, and this success is due to our incredibly talented team of committed journalists.”
Majumdar added, “I am excited to take on this new role. NewsX is already doing some of the best journalism on TV and as it morphs into IMN News we will set the bar for ourselves even higher.”
Recently, NewsX also appointed senior editors and journalists, including Ayaz Memon, Saeed Naqvi and Seema Mustafa.
